Thinking about this piece 🪨 “sister rocks” reduction fired porcelain, wild clay, commercial & mixed glazed, 2024, made in Glasgow.
The speckle patterning throughout is from the found clay. Perhaps birds eggs, river stones or galaxies. The pink blushing moments are my favourite 💘
Precious objects preforming non-precious tasks continues until March 29th @the_plumb curated by @avalonmott (I will be there this Saturday from 2-5)!
Pictured is Husky, a little smoke jester created at Medalta last summer (dreaming of the warmth today). Also a collection of drawings (collected over years) that may have influenced the piece, both the same thing and yet another body…

The final artistic creation for the 25th anniversary of Doves of Hope campaign at The Princess Margaret.
This ceramic sculpture honours both personal and communal journeys dealing with the experiences of Cancer, with images of hope and strength wrapping around the vessel.

Clay is a resilient medium. When creating a form, each layer is stacked with handmade coils, merging together and developing the sculptural entity. For the 25th anniversary of Doves of Hope at The Princess Margaret, I am building a ceramic vessel with imagery etched into the surface, connecting my family’s story of cancer to the communities at large from The Princess Margaret. Every Dove Tells a Story, donate today and dedicate a Dove to help create a world free from the fear of cancer. #25DovesOfHope #PrincessMargaretCancerFoundation #PMCF #CarryTheFire #SponsoredPost

Each year, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation fills the Cancer Centre with Dove dedications to loved ones and community members, each one sharing an inspirational message of hope. To mark the 25th anniversary, I will be creating a ceramic sculpture that honours the connections that sustain us, the stories that shape us, and the hope that keeps us moving forward.

Excited to announce that I am the 2025/2026 Toronto Artist in Residence, participating out of the @toronto_archives . Using fonds, photos, and other archival materials I will be developing a temporary public art installation exploring Chinese Immigrant experiences and connections to the history of clay in the city. I look forward to sharing updates on the project as it progresses.
