Honored to help certify diplomas for the graduating Class of 2026 at @drewcharterschool . Ten graduating classes. 25 years of impact in the East Lake community. Proud of these students and grateful for the educators, families, and leaders who helped make this milestone possible. 🎓💚

Bike-to-school day is 4 years old at Burgess-Peterson ES today. It’s always tricky to have the best part of the day so early in the morning.

And just like that - Year One in Ann Arbor is in the books! Happy to drop her off in August, even happier to pick her up in May.

Every day, APS parents are stepping up for their schools. This week’s rundown: cheerleaders celebrating Toomer partners, SPARK’s student-built golf, Midtown Jesters’ championship celebration, World Cup night at Garden Hills, and a night out with Drew. Whew. Y’all are working hard out there.

Budget Commission is finalizing 2027 budget- funding teacher raises, investing in literacy, reducing property taxes, & balancing the budget! 1st time since 2023 that APS will pay its bills without tapping the savings account. Thx to @apssupt & @katiephoward2021 for your disciplined leadership.

What can APS students do? Richard Dent, Super Bowl MVP,  legendary Bears defensive end, was honored last night as an outstanding APS alumnus. From Kirkwood to the Hall of Fame!! “He’s not here to start no trouble, he’s just here to do the Super Bowl Shuffle.”

Hope-Hill ES students brought the energy to The Jungle Book tonight! 🐾The Howard Auditorium was packed, and these young superstars did not disappoint. The kid-built stage was alive with talent, joy, and hard work… and a few reminders about focusing on the bare necessities 😉🎶 So proud of these students and Principal Knight for your leadership.

Had a powerful and intentional conversation with @ken.zeff , Executive Director of @l4lmetroatlanta and Vice President of the @apsboe Atlanta Board of Education (District 3). We discussed the real barriers many young scholars in Atlanta face when it comes to education and access to resources—and more importantly, how we can empower students to be part of the solutions. The goal is not only to raise awareness, but to equip young leaders to advocate, collaborate, and create change within their schools and communities. Important conversations like these move our city forward. The future belongs to our scholars. 🎓✨ #apsboe #learn4life #education #knowledgeispower
