the holiday season can be so busy ~ i’ve been intentionally trying to make time only for weylyn and i to connect and slow down together. yesterday was thanksgiving, and i never usually do anything on thanksgiving but i decided to make a special dinner for “just us” ~ sooo happy i did. when he came home from school and saw the table set, he got tears in his eyes and said “aw mommy it’s so beautiful thank you.” 🥹sadly, @keithharkin is never usually here when we put up the tree because he’s always on tour this time of year (go see him!) so this has become a fun ritual weylyn and i do together. so sweet that we did it this year on our first “just us” thanksgiving ~~ a special time i’ll cherish forever for real with silly dancing, playing mankala, making cake … reminder to myself that this is the only thing that matters 🫶🏼

It’s been over 12 years since I truly got introduced to the high that is the real fashion industry - the hustle of designing, sourcing one of kind fabrics, pattern making, size grading, finding those perfect zippers, waiting outside in my car in a alleyway in downtown LA for hours just hoping to make that deadline before planet blue cancels their 20k order. Such a fun time in my life bringing to life some of my favorite things that I still wear and if I don’t still wear it, it’s because I probably gave away my own personal piece to someone who admired it. I loved every step of this crazy world, that is beyond gorgeous models and gorgeous clothing. Maybe one day I’ll get back into it … but for now let’s reminisce with some of my favorite shoots for my brand @lukkathelabel with some of my favorite women (And man @ethanlovell !! ) who were down for the fun and love of being creative… and extra love shout out to babyblue my ride or die shag carpet van that i miss everyday
