Squeaking in at the last minute to share my 2024-25 One Year One Outfit
@pembinafibreshed pieces before we kick off the 4th round of the project this week!
This collection focused on practicality, identifying gaps in my wardrobe. From the start, I knew I wanted to make a cardigan from a raw fleece, a project that carried me through most of the year: washing and carding my Leafhaven Shetlands fleece in spring 2024, spinning through the summer, and finishing the knitting in early 2025. The rest of my time went into creating staple pieces: socks with Sunflower Knit yarn and a vest and felted mittens from Big Oak Farm Lopi. I wear these with gratefulness, remembering the gifts of the land, the animals, and the labour of friends.

6/ Captured at 1am the day the project was due with a pair of just-finished socks. Knitting for 15 hrs straight on size 1 needles will take you to altered states. I do not recommend.
Onto the next season of fibre obsession.
