I got so lucky with SUITCASE. Two amazing locations that had wonderful women behind them. The most talented and generous Director of Photography. A fierce + mighty cast & crew who toughed snow banks and teen temperatures with smiles. 24 game-faced background actors who happily gave their Sunday to SUITCASE. And best of all, three beautiful souls - Joan, Steve, and Sherry - to act out this story alongside. Indie film is always a beast to wrangle and it was made real by a true community of artists and makers. What an incredible experience for this first-time director!! Heart full.

At a conference today the speaker addressed some of the issues we are facing as our culture actively shifts.
As we head to a future of robots and algorithm-driven experiences, it’s us storytellers who have an opportunity to inspire others by reminding humans that we are connected creatures…. and it’s filmmaking that creates the spaces for conversations about the *human* experience.
SUITCASE is a story of human connection, kindness, love, and loss and I know that more than ever how stories like this are needed.

We are so honored to hear that short tap dance film CUT ME SUMMA DAT NOISE has won a super cool award at a super cool festival : Best Choreography for the Camera (!!) at Festival Videodanza de Puerto Rico. This award truly belongs to Gabe Elder (@gabecelder ), our incredible DP who worked with, alongside, and between the dancers to help bring the audience into the rhythm of the film. I don’t think “choreography for the camera” is celebrated enough in the world of filmmaking but on tricky or small sets it’s easy to appreciate the navigational skills required by good camera teams!
