My third novel with @penguinukbooks hits bookstores in 2027!! 🕵️♀️ None of this would be possible without my incredible editor Emily and my lovely agent Judith. Article from @_thebookseller :
Century has acquired a new murder mystery by Kelly Mullen.
Fiction publishing director Emily Griffin acquired world rights to The Last Guest Dies Tonight from Judith Murray at Greene & Heaton. The book will be released in hardback, e-book and audio in spring 2027.
"The Last Guest Dies Tonight is a bourbon-soaked meta-murder mystery set in Savannah, Georgia, about a film editor, Saskia, who believes her footage may hold the clues to two shocking deaths that unfold during the making of a documentary about a ghost-whispering lifestyle guru," the synopsis says. "Can she solve the murders with her puzzling eye as she finishes the movie or will getting too close to the truth lead her into the path of the killer?"
Griffin said: "Kelly is fast establishing herself as the queen of feel-good crime fiction – she is an effortless storyteller with a talent for creating irresistible, unique characters and murder-mystery set-ups, which are at once gripping, escapist and unbelievably fun to read. It’s been incredible to see readers and the wider crime community taking Kelly and her debut novel This Is Not a Game [Century] to their hearts. Kelly is a dream to work with and the Century team have ambitious plans to continue to grow her readership. We can’t wait to get started!"
Mullen added: "I have always admired film editors. Their craft often goes unappreciated and many of its best practitioners are women, so I’ve enjoyed creating a mystery that’s steered by the ‘invisible hand’ of a movie. I also could not be happier to continue my writing career with Century. Emily has been the most collaborative and insightful editor I could ever ask for, and the entire Century team brings a joy and passion to the process that is evident in everything they do."

Somehow being blurbed makes me feel more like an author than writing actual books!
Thanks @duttonbooks for this beautiful finished copy of @kristenperrinwrites How To Cheat Your Own Death. Not only is this cover gorgeous but the words inside are also pure joy. She is one of my favorite mystery writers.
