Our community is what @soundofspace and I love about Charlotte, hands down. We’ve always loved traveling and moving, but our people make this place home. One of my favorite things about our community is watching people take care of each other and I’ve seen it so many times. •• Jordan and Sally have warmth and goodness hovering around them like a cloud, and to know them is to be wrapped in that goodness. Two kinder, more joyful souls, I’ve never met. To be able to give life and love just by being present. That’s something to observe, to meditate on, to reach out and protect. This gift of love that they have is what they’re promising in return, as they ask for help. Sally needs a new liver. She has PCS and needs our help. Not because of what they promise or even for the precious wonders that they are, but because they are us and we are them. Community. This is what we do. If you know them, you know what to do. Everything beautiful reminds me of you. I saw two butterflies today. The sky was gorgeous. You would’ve loved these flowers, your tiny whispered “woah” making my heart skip. I love you my Cece girl, my little moonbeam.

The sound of children begging to be reunited with their families breaks my heart. I haven’t been able to fully listen to a single clip because I hear my niece, I hear my parents, my grandma, my cousins, my family, myself in those voices. Although the reversal of policies is in the beginning stages, I’m still haunted by the stories and images. There are still families separated. I think about the pain and trauma these young humans are going to experience for the rest of their lives. Do you? Please consider supporting efforts to help. It’s not hard, anything helps.
