Day 2 #AFW2026 belongs to the people. @commas at Tamarama, a bloke decided the collection could wait - stretch, warm up, boardies on, straight through the front row to the water. Maybe one or two duck dives? Most Australian thing ever. Commas didn’t miss a beat.
@biancaspender . Precise, considered, quietly radical.
@aje Effortless in the way that never actually is.
@courtneyzhengofficial , The Frontier. @alix_higgins and @hansenandgretel on the same AFW stage. All different worlds, all completely sure of themselves. That’s the whole point. 🖤

Always read the label and follow directions for use.
I have a home I love, pets at my feet, (big) kids still at home, a life that feels full. And yet the fastest growing group experiencing homelessness in Australia are women my age. Women over 50. Let that sink in.
As we head into winter, @twogoodco is doing something beautiful about it by partnering with @alemais.official on the Marina Strone Heirloom throw. Buy one, and one goes directly to a woman in a shelter who needs it.
This Mother’s Day, make it mean something.

In Paris, you see pieces way out of your price range.
In Australia, you see pieces on the runway, and you could maybe afford it 💸
@kelliehush on why our industry’s greatest strength is its wearable, world-class accessibility.

30 years of Australian Fashion Week. And every single one of them has been defined by the designers on the schedule.
This year’s lineup is exactly what the fashion world wants to come to Sydney to see. Established names who are must-sees season after season. Emerging talent that will stop you in your tracks. And designers proving creativity doesn’t only come from the cities you’d expect.
None of them got here by playing it safe. They got here by being unmistakably themselves and tenacious. And if there’s one thing Australian fashion does better than anywhere else in the world, it’s that. We create our own style. Write strong narratives. Compelling craft. World-class resort. Sustainability that isn’t a marketing line - it’s a material decision.
That’s what buyers come here to find. That’s what the international press comes here to write about. And this May, that’s exactly what we’re going to deliver.
AFC AFW 2026. May 11–15. Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
This is going to be a genuinely special week.

I’m incredibly proud to share that AFC Australian Fashion Week 2026 will be anchored at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, in partnership with Destination NSW.
From 11–15 May, AFW returns as a city-wide celebration of Australian fashion — with the MCA as our central hub, placing fashion in conversation with contemporary art and culture in the heart of Sydney Harbour.
This marks a bold new chapter. As Fashion Director 2026, my focus is clear: elevate Australian designers on the global stage, strengthen our industry platform, and create a week that feels culturally powerful and commercially meaningful.
We’ll champion established and emerging talent, First Nations designers and the next generation of creatives — alongside talks, consumer activations. experiences and industry connection.
This is Australian fashion, confidently stepping forward. @afcaustralianfashionweek@sydney@mca_australia@destination_nsw
2016 … what a decade it has been. Back then BAZAAR and my girls ruled my world. The girls still rule ❤️🤣❤️ but now my days are ruled by what drives me … not the heads (grey and male) of a corporate media company.
Fashion is still at the heart of everything I do. Always will be.
And seeing street style pics of what I wore to Australian Fashion Week in 2016 … my younger self would not have believed one day I’d step in as CEO!
@honjuliebishop told me over a coffee recently that I’m in the prime of my career. And I like that! I mean look at the career of my amazing dear friend Carla Zampatti ❤️ In 2016 I know I feared risk but younger self you had nothing to fear. ❤️
