On my way to the gig on Saturday, had the bus driver compliment my spiky shoes, had someone else compliment my t-shirt, and had some old boy on the bus asking me about the Latin on the back of my jacket. He translated it as "Save yourself from inferior people", I had to tell him it means "Save yourself from Hell", he asked if I was a Christian and I told him it was a quote from the classic 90's sci-fi horror, "Event Horizon".
And no, I wasn't a Christian.
Although looking at it now, I can see why he'd think it...if I ignored everything else on the jacket.

I have no recollection of jammin with Jesus, Leatherface or Dr Facilier. I remember jammin with Ozzy, though. Amazing night. For the first time ever, we decided not to camp next to the toilets. That was a smart decision.
The George Hotel and all the community buildings in the town did a good job putting up with the excess punters left homeless after the Craigdarroch (and it's beer garden) closed.
Met some cool people, had some nice comments on my battlejacket, and met one knob who decided to play guitar next to my tent until 6am this morning. I know it's a music festival but that's just selfish.
I took my wee crappy bodhran down with the intention of practising it, but I ended up just terrorising Andy's wee dog Coco with it.
Katrina and John's weans decided to face paint me while I fell asleep in my chair. Was I painted as a butterfly? A tiger? Spiderman? No, I was painted as "an old man" and they drew wrinkles on me. I'm taking that as a compliment.
And I finally learned how to put my tent away properly, no more faffing about, yay.

Tonight I have invented what could be the latest to join the pantheon of Glaswegian "dare" cuisine, alongside the Pizza Crunch and Chips, Cheese and Donner Meat.
It came to me in a dream, and I felt the irresistible urge to make it; A Battenburg cake, but made from combinations of white pudding/black pudding/red pudding, covered in batter and deep fried.
I have Christened it The Batterburgh (pronounced Batter-burra, like Edinburgh).
May God have mercy on the souls of anyone foolish enough to try it. I feel like Icarus, having flown too close to the sun, but that might just be the deep fat frier spitting on me.

Went to see @mr_dark_room last night, my pals @caffeinated_kuro and Garry had bought me a ticket as a birthday surprise, great fun. At one point he came up to the seat next to me to stand on, saw me in my punk fit, shook my hand and said "The two of us look like we should be in Streets of Rage", made my night.
