Hi there! In a New Year of reuniting and reconnecting, weβll host a tea/salami gathering party in this Friday. Welcome all old and new friends who can sit together in a warm and comfortable place and share food, love, troubles and recent thinking. Maybe itβs an old friend that you havenβt seen in years due to international travel restrictions, maybe itβs the first time youβve met someone online for years, or maybe itβs a friend of a friend who pays attention to the same topic. We believe in the round table approach of seeking common ground while reserving differences, in equal and patient sharing and listening, and believe that these will give us the oxygen to breathe and innovate in the tides of our time.
We offer special snacks and drinks such as osmanthus black tea, salami sausage, Pakistani dates, as well as temporarily confidential ones.
Thank you everyone who came to the private view - The housewarming party is becoming a house-heating one! For those who didn't make it today - we have the public opening aka curator talk, & guided tour tomorrow!

IntroducingΒ Sae Yeoun Hwang (@yoyokoolkool ),Β one of eleven artists showing in (π―πππππ, ππ) π¨π πππππ π·πππππππππ β¨β¨
πSae Yeoun Hwang (b.1994) received an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art. Her work has been exhibited in galleries including Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop, Fold Gallery, and The Factory Project. She was an artist in residence at Reading Museum in 2021. Her work explores the intersection between personal experience and universal themes. Her work is influenced by a fusion of memory, imagination, and real-life encounters, presenting non-linear narratives that reflect both micro and macro aspects of self and life.
πGrowing up in multiple cultures, she was often viewed as an Asian immigrant in Western eyes, which provided her with a unique perspective on societal norms and the experience of being the perpetual outsider. Her artwork incorporates humor as a defense mechanism, exploring its power to diffuse the weight of serious subjects. She is interested in the mechanics of humor and who gets to partake in the joke. By understanding the underlying context of humor, viewers' socio-economic, cultural, and political acuity is revealed, challenging the essence of the joke itself.

πͺIntroducingΒ Wing Ka Ho Jimmi (@groundhooo ),Β one of eleven artists showing in (π―πππππ, ππ) π¨π πππππ π·πππππππππ β¨β¨
πͺWing Ka Ho Jimmi(b. 1993), from Hong Kong, currently based in the UK, explores political, social, and immigration-related history in his photography. For him, the relationship between memory and migration is a continuous journey, a theme that prompts reflection and contemplation. His latest project, "So close and yet so far away," showcases the traces of history and the passage of memory, as well as how these experiences and traumas shape self-awareness and a sense of belonging in modern society.
πͺHis works have been featured in The Photographers' Gallery, the Kyoto International Photography Festival, and he is also one of the recipients of the 2021/22 Royal Photographic Society Postgraduate Bursary and a nominee for the C/O Berlin Talent Award.

πͺ‘Introducing Leslie Tan (@leslesslies ),Β currently collaborating with xiaoyu1002 for site-specific installation in (π―πππππ, ππ) π¨π πππππ π·πππππππππ β¨β¨
πͺ‘Leslie Tan is an artist based in London who works with various mediums, primarily fabric and textiles, as well as 3D animation. However, due to her severe ADHD, she often needs to collaborate with others to stay focused on one task instead of trying to do many things at once. Despite this challenge, her work showcases her penchant for clothing language that is excessive and uncontrolled, as well as visually chaotic pieces.
