DISTEMPER Episode1 Written by Max Pitagno and Elias Plagianos; directed by Elias Plagianos. Set in 1918-1920’s, this gorgeous 18 minute period piece is based on historical truth about Louise Pearce, a scientist and LBGT icon, determined to find a cure for a pandemic that raged across the Belgian Congo. Inspirational performances by principal cast, Abigail Hawk, Chiké Okonkwo, Tara Westwood, Matthew Matthew Conlon. Cinematically superb. Find it on Amazon Prime. @directornyc @hawkabigail @tara_westwood @staceyv_g @chike_okonkwo @matthew.conlon.182 @fionaspeaks @craigblairfilm @jackiemartling @jackorphan14 @sarah.shears @lukashassel @maxpitagno @natalie_rose_nichole next up: V 13 - please standby!

TRIGGERED. Given the recent news cycle, I thought about Triggered, and its impactful layers of grief. I haven’t seen the controversial 18 minute film, directed by Tara Westwood, since its World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival. I couldn’t find it on any platform today, so I reached out to the Director, who is currently planning to film it as a feature. On whichever side of this polarizing topic you land, be on high alert for TRIGGERED, the movie. It was relevant then and it’s relevant now. As Tara emphasized, it’s relevant EVERY day.

What a great weekend to cozy up and watch film and TV indies. Among my favorites: HOUSE OF ABRAHAM. My heart is still pounding from this psychological thriller. Writer and actor Lukas Hassel is terrifyingly charismatic as Abraham, alongside principal cast Lyn Shaye (horror royalty!) and Natasha Henstridge. If you haven’t seen House of Abraham, directed by Lisa Belcher. check it out!
