We won a Webby in the experimental/innovation category! Thank you to everyone who’s listened and shared the show. YOU are why it still exists.
I think what’s cool about awards are the stories they tell.
To me, the story of this win is that, even though the economic challenges of loving and making audio are real, video is something we all have to consider (even those of us who hate being on camera 🙋🏾♀️), everyone has to engage with social media an some level, and celebrity/influencer-led podcasts attract massive engaged audiences….
We don’t all have to approach change by turning ourselves into the exact same thing. Narrative audio is a large part of what attracted all this attention to the medium in the first place. Yes, it needs to adapt. AND these stories and this style still matter to listeners.

Thankful to be a part of some amazing Black-led productions and centered stories. I LOVE working in creative audio storytelling but honestly I rarely get these opportunities and usually have to seek them out. So when I get asked to work on projects like @vanityfair #OneToughCookie telling the story of one of the world’s most unique entrepreneurs in Wally “Famous” Amos with fellow ex-Vice colleagues @steph.kariuki & @adizaheghan or work with the uber-talented @nicholewthanh on her award-winning black history-comedy podcast @ourancestorsweremessy then it’s a quick “YES” as I’ll always value the importance of representation when telling OUR stories, and again thankful I get the chance.
Salute to the people who voted and congrats to our teams for these @thewebbyawards wins!! It don’t stop, more #worktodo
When I was in college at @howarduniversitychsoc we had our annual student awards for achievements in media so I was familiar with Paul Robeson’s career on stage & in front of the mic since those awards bared his name and honored his legacy… now 25 years later I got via my most recent collaboration with @nicholewthanh show @ourancestorsweremessy to learn more about he & his wife’s lives to flesh out the whole man behind the music/acting/activism etc. NOW, I get to have this podcast bucket list moment by hearing the work shared via @thisamerlife a show that has been airing since I was in college in the early aughts. Crazy… full circle. Thanks Nichole!!! #mamawemadeit

Working on this #paulmccartney project with @audible was not on my “bingo card” for 2026 but super shouts & sincere thanks to @colabottlebaby for giving me this opportunity & believing in me enough to entrust me to bring this 4-part story together sonically through ALL the notes, recordings & music culled to make it into the cohesive & intimate story of Sir Paul’s life post-Beatles that it is!
If you haven’t seen the movie documentary too- it’s an amazing watch!
