We’re proud to partner with @kcclayguild ! ROHDE is excited to officially announce our partnership with KC Clay Guild as part of our entrance into the North American market. Our energy-efficient, high-tech kilns will now be a cornerstone of KC Clay Guild’s newly outfitted kiln room. The front-loading ELS-S chamber kilns will be installed alongside their existing gas kiln, with plans to add ROHDE Ecotop top-loading kilns in the near future. This collaboration marks a significant step forward—not only for KC Clay Guild’s ambitious renovation and expansion project, but also for ROHDE. We are very close to launching our kilns in the U.S. market, and this partnership is just one of the exciting ways we’re getting started. #rohdekilns #ceramiccommunity #kcclayguild #potterycenter #ceramicarts #kilnroom #ceramicsstudio #ceramicsusa #makersmovement #potterynews #ceramicinnovation #northamericanceramics #claycommunity #kilnlaunch #artistpartnerships #supportceramicarts

We are happy to share that KC Studio Magazine has published a really nice article sharing a big update on our building search and highlighting our Artist in Residence Program. KC Clay Guild is under contract on an 18,500 square foot building with 55 car parking lot at 500 W. 39th Street. Building inspections are in progress. With the support of a volunteer Construction Committee, we are planning the layout and renovation as well as refining the business plan. Since the article was written, we have pushed even closer to the $500,000 purchase and renovation goal. We are just $67,000 short of this goal! Please consider making a donation to cross the finish line. Link in profile.

The @kcclayguild Construction for our new building on 39th Street reached an exciting milestone on Tuesday - we passed our in-wall rough-in inspections in the west basement! What that means is that the City has said all the plumbing and electrical that will be behind walls is in correctly - so drywall is starting! Hanging drywall is a major step in all construction projects, since that’s when you can really see your rooms take shape! Shoutout to our General Contractor, @forge_construction for keeping our project on track!

Spring Sale Artist Highlight: Patricia Baxter "An infusion of Hopi and Zuni pottery elements give my work a distinction. Hopi forms, shapes and abstract designs are largely seen on my pieces. The sculptural aspect of reptile heads and bodies rising out of the surface is a Zuni influence. I have combined the traditional forms or shapes along with abstract designs to create contemporary pieces. By changing or exaggerating an aspect of form or design results in a piece with distinction. What attracts people to my work? They see my unique design in both shape and decoration. Many have commented on the feel of the piece, its thinness, others are attracted by my use of space and color. Each piece is hand built, hand painted and unique. I want people to see the beauty of the Pueblo clay tradition, yet have a piece of pottery that reflects my infusion of ideas, thoughts and feelings of traditional Hopi and Zuni pottery in out current time." Spring Sale Artist Highlight: Desiree Warren Desiree Warren @eightyacresart received a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Kansas in 2005. While there she learned the basics of ceramics, but didn't start making and selling work in that medium for another ten years. What excites her is experimenting with glaze combinations and finding weird things to create textural details on her simply-shaped geometric vases and Cat Collection series. Shehas been hand-building work at the Guild since 2017 and her home studio since 2021.
