Beyond a manual, You Are the Consumer is a manifesto for anyone ready to redefine success and break free from convention. Whether you’re just starting out, looking to reinvent yourself, or simply curious, this book will help you find clarity, stay true to your vision, and lead with purpose.
I’ve long struggled to justify my existence in this world, so I hope this book teaches you that you don’t need to. This book is the culmination of what I didn’t get right as much as what I did. The distance between producers and consumers has never been shorter, and I felt there could be value in a book that almost reads as a journal full of candid insights and actionable advice from someone actively navigating the business as a creative.
It’s been a year of juxtaposition. Every step forward seems accompanied by two steps back. Layoffs, restructures, and a reckoning of abusive power dynamics have underscored the industry’s turbulence, but amidst the uncertainty, does anyone else feel a buzz of excitement? We’re seeing incredible creative growth that’s energizing a new generation of superstar talent across the board. With new leaders emerging and shaping the future, the way success is defined has evolved. The challenges are paving the way for a brighter, more authentic future. It feels like we’ve only just scratched the surface of what’s possible.
