Hanging at Screen Forever on the Gold Coast. Morning swim, well, maybe just a walk. (Bit windy, bit cold, pretty rainy). Great sessions so far and meeting the most fabulous of folk. PS loving meeting all these incredible Screen Vixens!! Looking to meet those working in narrative comedy and animation - production and distribution. @screen_producer @screenvixens

And as we come to the end of a marathon run, here's yet another wonderful, final, review of my show "Anything But The Dyson and Other Excellent Monologues". Thanks Myron My of @mymelbournearts "Mathers’ first show in 23 years, but you would not know it. She is completely at ease on stage, slipping seamlessly into character and impressions of doctors and newsreaders, with a confidence that suggests she has never been away.....perceptive.... warm, funny and moving performance, balancing candid comedy with scenes of genuine tenderness...beautifully realised." Only a few tix remaining for tonight's final show. 6pm at Trainscendence in Collingwood (enter via Budd Street and look for the fairy lights in the lane, that's the cute little bar. Aim to arrive at 5.40 as the show will start bang-on 6pm). xx Kat More info: linktr.ee/AnythingButTheDyson Bookings: tinyurl.com/DysonTix Full review here: /.../anything-but-dyson...

It’s been a huge week. Thanks to everyone who has come out to see my show ‘Anything But The Dyson and Other Excellent Monologues’ at the @melbcomedyfestival so far. I’m knackered, overwhelmed and having a ball. But right now, I’m 💯 enjoying seagulls squawking and watching my dog play in the sand.

Dyson rehearsal selfie. As the world goes to absolute shit, I think the need for comedy is greater than ever. My show #AnythingButTheDyson And Other Excellent Monologues, will be running at 6pm EVERY night of the festival except Wednesdays, at the coolest new venue-hub in town @trainscendencemelbourne in @theimprovpit 's Black Box Theatre in Collingwood. I'm sooooo grateful to the incredible @roz_hammond as my director, for her insight, intuition and comedy gold. And to @isla.shaw.7 for her attention to detail, incredible vision in production designing this show, and in anticipation - thank you to YOU - oh audience members, for buying your tickets, supporting local comedy, people taking risks, and getting out in fabulous Melbourne to see some shows. Happy (or is it) International Women’s Day!! I made a list of excellent chick shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival you should see. But first… please come to mine comedyfestival.com.au/browse-shows/anything-but-the-dyson-other-excellent-monologues *** UP FRONT Hosted by Michelle Brasier, this is a who’s-who of female and non-binary comedians. Always a festival highlight. *** DENISE SCOTT: TICKETY BOO Who doesn’t love Denise Scott? (Yes, she’s got a cancer story. Stealing my thunder.) *** KITTY FLANAGAN: GLAD GAME How can a woman wear a brown suit and still rule the room?
*** MOOSEHEAD BENEFIT This end-of-festival show is always stacked with headliners. Two of this year’s recipients are women: Kate Dolan and Elouise Eftos. Get out and see them. *** PEOPLE YOU KNOW Christie Whelan-Browne, Emily Taheny and Jess Harris together on stage? Yes please. *** BROWN WOMEN COMEDY Funny insights into taboos, trauma, family expectations, and life. Also, no white male comedians on stage. Brilliant. *** ALI McGREGOR’S LATE-NIGHT VARIETY NITE NIGHT I never miss Ali's cabaret, jazz and rotating celebrity guests. This one’s not that late. I'm going anyway. ***** GIRL POWER COMEDY HOUR A tasting plate of festival talent, perfect for discovering someone new. *** STELLA YOUNG DOCUMENTARY FUNDRAISER A one-off, not-to-be-missed event, hosted by Reuben Kaye with a brilliant female lineup. *** CLAIRE HOOPER: FUN SHOW XX I adore Claire Hooper. She’s who I want to be when I grow up (I’m older, so that’s a bit awkward). Read the full post on Facebook. /reel/1994365251500501 #IWD #anythingbutthedyson #MICF

Look at this magnificent work of colourful joy, created by my fellow resident @106art_ artist Tamar Dolev (@theartoftamar ) for a project we're collaborating on called PINK SALAD - a short experimental/doco/puppetry/animation hybrid film that we're making together over the first half of this year. For the past little while, Tamar has been an artist in residence at @yarrasculpturegallery with the support of @artsaccessvic and @yarracityarts and this Sunday 1st March, we'll be showing some of the things she's made, and we'll share some early video experimentations as part of the residency showcase. Join us. 2-4pm this Sunday at @yarrasculpturegallery (PS for anyone who knows Tamar, how fabulous is the likeness!!) If anyone is still on Facebook, follow along as we make the film - (we can't name the page properly until more people like and follow us, so please... go here: /profile.php?id=61564254545255) #pinksalad.
