I didn’t take out the gong last night but I am SO insanely grateful to have been nominated for an @aria_official Award this year. You’re brilliant and a dear friend. My incredibly supportive partner @jarry.music for not only playing drums and guitars and extra production on the record, but also for generally inspiring this record. I love you always and forever. @alexlestrangemusic for his mix and to @benfeggans at @studios301 . To the co-writers on this record - @slizzardqueen , @jakemicucci and @jennyowenyoungs . Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the incredible Rob Hirst. What a force he was! @midnightoilband was so incredibly supportive of us (@allourexesliveintexas ) from the very start. From US tours to shows here in Australia, it was such a privilege to warm the stage for these icons. Rob’s drumming and songwriting always left me utterly floored. But above all, he was just such a nice bloke. Sending so much love to his Oils family and the beautiful Hirsts. Rob, you will be sorely missed. ❤️

Story time. A few years ago my dad died. And I woke up on the morning of the funeral and I really, really didn’t want to go. And I felt like if I got up from the couch and got into the shower that would be like a train I couldn’t get off. I went to Nashville with this idea floating around. And I had a writing session with @kaiwelch_onthe_internet and I somehow knew he would handle this extremely sensitive topic with such care. He basically just let me ramble and took my words and helped me craft them into this - a letter, a story, a stream of consciousness. We’re recording it next year and the band have already treated it with a reverence I am so appreciative of. I can’t wait to share it properly but for now, here’s a little snippet of Finally Furious from The Nashville Tapes. ❤️
