Crocheted a chainmaille top in stainless steel chain. Loved it. Decided to take my time making another in a different pattern. My guardian angel says “would this possibly be ready for the @apraamcos awards next week?”. I love me a deadline so cue all the hurried crocheting, undoing, redoing, multiple video messages back and forth about fit and undergarments. When it was nearly finished and the awards were upon us I decided matching chainmaille chokers were absolutely ESSENTIAL too. Got it done in time and she looked 🔥🔥🔥 @katie.wighton

Lately I have been exploring the idea of ‘value’ and how and why items are deemed ‘valuable’, either by the collective (stocks/pricing) or by the individual (sentiment/emotion). I took a piece of coral and set a sapphire, pearl and pure silver into it. Most people would say the coral was less valuable than the sapphire I set into it but the reality is this: The coral is completely unique, one of a kind. I have never seen a piece of coral exactly the same as this piece of coral. The sapphire however beautiful, is of a shape and colour I have seen many times before. The coral was picked up by my daughter and given to me as an offering ‘Mum, this has a hole already in it, you should make something from it!’, whereas the sapphire was set in a broken ring that hadn’t been looked at, let alone loved, for several years. Did setting the sapphire into the coral decrease the value of the sapphire? Did it increase the value of the coral? Do they need each other to create something entirely new and valuable in it’s own right as an art piece and adornment? Does it matter? The chains are made from brass and stainless steel using a European 4-in-1 chainmaille weave. The versatility of this piece is truly it’s greatest strength. This is like 10 necklaces for the price of one. The chains are designed to be able to be worn in several ways and at several lengths. The coral amulet can be taken off entirely so the chains can also be worn separately. I adore this piece. I hope you love it as much as I do. It’s on the website now xx

Yesterdays workshop @thegeneralstorepalmwoods was such a pleasure! These women who had never before picked up a jewellers saw cut and shaped flowers from scrap metal, used flame work to create stems and stamens from recycled sterling silver and their own hooks and findings to create beautiful earrings from scrap and chaos. Then we ate cake in Trini’s gorgeous space and generally merry-made. Let’s do it again soon Trini! 🌼🎀

⛓️Byzantine Rope Chain Necklace⛓️ I finally got this up on the website! This beautiful chain has incredible texture and movement, feels like a serpent. Made from stainless steel it’s just like your favourite cereal - not too heavy, not too light. This chainmaille weave is called “Byzantine” for its evocative nature, conjuring images of intricacy, patience and opulence. However there is no arecological evidence that it existed in the Byzantine era. In reality the weave most likely originated in Italy in the medieval period and, unlike other chainmaille weaves which were used for combat and protection, this weave was almost exclusively used for jewellery and decoration. I can stare at this pattern and play with this deliciously tactile chain all day. Available now 🥳

Collection 1 earrings: Lately I have been obsessed with the idea of rarity and value. It seems absurd the way we place value on certain things. I’m thoroughly enjoying playing around with items that I find beautiful and immensely valuable (either because of the memories they hold or the uniqueness of their appearance) and pairing them with classically ‘valuable’ pieces. These earrings combine, copper offcuts which I have heat treated to draw out the beautiful, natural patina of the material, jade rounds, brass hoops and driftwood held together with an intricate 6-in-1 chainmaille weave that originated in Persia in the 3rd century AD. I used leftover jump rings from a previous project to complete the chainmaille - the aluminium keeps these show-stopping earrings at a wearable weight. Reducing waste, finding beauty in nature and waste and combining unusual objects in unusual ways adds value to them all, if for no other reason than that making and designing these earrings brought me immense joy. On the website now. 🧚🏼‍♀️

Easter at home 2026. I tried something different this year with the kids and with the business and both were very scary but very successful. The kids and I did a hunt with picture clues and a scavenger hunt around the suburbs to find prizes at the homes of our family and friends. It was such a beautiful way to kick start the holidays. Will repeat. Familiar favourites were homemade baskets, treats from Source, dutch baby for breakfast and decorated Easter branch. Business-wise I finally took my unofficial mentor’s advice and made an ebook of natural easter craft ideas and popped it on my brand new website as a download. That felt like a weirdly big step for me but the sales from that ebook paid for me to take a couple of days off over Easter and brought me lots of joy and connection with new and old friends 💖

This is a reeeeally sweet little commission I created recently for Harriet who turns 10 today! Harriet gifted me a handful of quandong seeds from her driveway which I have used to make many things including “Harriet’s Quandong Earrings” currently on the website. Upon seeing the listing Harriet asked her Mum if she could get her ears pierced so that she could wear the earrings but they are a pretty hefty size and weight so instead her Mum secretly commissioned a quandong bangle to celebrate her turning double digits. A ziplock bag of carefully selected driveway quandongs was stealthily exchanged at the school gates and a few days later Harriet’s bangle was complete! Brass and sterling silver set with quandong and a freshwater pearl. A very sentimental piece to see her through into adulthood. 💫

Finallllllly the new website is here and live and ready to go and full of new treats. I’m so excited to take this little business in a new direction that feels fun and experimental after years of doing the same thing. These collection earrings are one of my favourite pieces on the website. I’m enjoying exploring new materials and techniques and the creativity that’s grown from the challenge of using up my stash rather than invest in new materials. Have a look and let me know what you think! #thanks for being here 😁

Did you know Valentine is the patron of epilepsy? So, let’s talk about epilepsy on this fine st Valentine’s Day. Toooo many women I know are dealing with these symptoms or did before they were taken seriously and given the help they needed.
