Every sunset from this balcony whispers to me “You are here, you are alive, and we are ephemeral”.
So I have been focused on being as present as I can and preparing for what is next in all the chaos.
Listening to my intuition has always lead me well and the next chapter of this adventure is almost ready to begin!

Intentional Movement isn’t about going to the gym
Its about taking time to walk along the beach with your toes in the sand
Its about spending an hour or two walking around the botanical gardens and carrying your groceries home
Sometimes its about going to the gym, lifting weights, and marveling at the physical transformation
Its about going out dancing with friends or having a solo dance party at home
Its about going to museums and walking around sculptures to appreciate then from all angles
Its about exploring new neighborhoods and noticing the little details
Its about seeking out the roses and then stopping to smell them
If you want support to incorporate intentional movement into your life, let’s work together to create achievable goals that fit your life and your interests!

I chased summer up to the Gold Coast and found a piece of my soul, it was resting at the beaches and dancing in the clubs and brought me new friends!

Over a month of selfies!
I have not been able to edit vlog footage lately, the focus and motivation have not been there as I’ve adjusted to living in my new flat, new flatmates, new commute, more work, making friends, exploring, and still finding the fun and whimsy where I can!
Life is not a performance, its meant to be lived.
So while I am busy living, and you’re busy living, here are some moments remembered 💚

Not the same same
I was the fittest at 23 years old, until now!
Same weight, same amount of time in the gym, but there’s so many differences now too!
I suffered and have finally recovered from a serious illness that changed my body forever making my eating habits healthier and more mindful, I know myself so much better, I have had innumerable experiences that I have turned into life lessons.
And now I’m in Australia making all past versions of myself proud ❤️🔥
Progress is measured in more than just numbers and
I guess I’m not the same anymore.
That’s the point!

Next video of the Traveling Geographer is available!
Note: finding time to edit has been a challenge these past few weeks, but I hope you’ll still follow along.
This episode is the wind down after my first week abroad where I go to stay with my Auntie and Uncle. Finally able to relax and let go while processing homesickness.
I think homesickness comes from a place of struggle and things not turning out how you thought they would. Its harder that expected, plans are not panning out, stress from the past demands to be felt.
But family feels like the antidote.
Making friends with the cat and getting some laundry done helps too hahaha

What does ANZHNS 2002 stand for? Wrong answers only!
My uncle gave me this cap when I couldn’t find mine. Its actually really nice with a suede bill and I will try properly styling it soon haha

End of January: Wrapped up my first week in Australia being homesick.
It feels different when you’re more than 7 hours away from all that is familiar.
Thankful that I’m only a facetime away from my mum and a lot of close friends.
Finding joy in the little things, feeling safe at my gym to work through tough emotions and a familiar routine, stumbling across the weekly market.
Getting to meet my auntie and uncle made a big difference, especially when they said I could stay with them until I got my feet back under myself.
Vlog number 4 is out now in two parts. This one is pretty vulnerable, you’ll see why.
Keep moving forward.

January 28th I went downtown to explore Sydney!
I love big cities; the anonymity, the tall buildings, the bustling streets!
It reminded me a bit if Vancouver in the sense that nature is so close by all the time, with the sea and the harbors, lots of trees, easily going from urban centre to nature reserve.
After locating the Canadian Consulate Genrral’s office (just a passport office fiy), the first place of note I went was Circular Quay! Where I saw the Sydney Opera House from across the harbor and statues in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Then I walked to Barangaroo Nature Reserve and walked along the Sandstone Seawall and Nawi Cove.
Episode 3 of The Traveling Geographer is set to be posted later today!

Arrived in Australia 🇦🇺
Jan 27th, I lost a day while traveling across the pacific ocean and through time zones lol
I’m so excited to be here, this is the fresh start I’ve needed for months now!
I’ve been collecting video footage which I will compile and share with you all because - realistically - updating all my friends and family individually via text and video calls would be a full time job!
First vlog episode is scheduled to be posted Jan 30th in the morning, Sydney time.
