This is the second book in this interactive puzzle-filled mystery adventure book series for readers aged 7 and over. As in book 1 the story is filled with oodles of @binnyillustration ’s quirky illustrations, and is broken into short fast-paced chapters. And good news for fans of the first book - this book jumps straight into the action, picking up where the cliffhanger ending of Mystery Most Puzzling left off, so the wait is finally over to find out what happens next! It’s been a while since I did a ‘hello, it’s me’ type post, so here’s a new one featuring my newest lovely books! My name is Kate Thompson (although I write as K.R. Thompson for my older fiction) and I am a children’s author. I’m lucky enough to have had six books I’ve written published so far (with more on the way) and to have worked with hugely talented illustrators and publishing teams. I genuinely have to pinch myself sometimes that I get to be a children’s author as my main job… after my most important job as Mum to two wonderful boys. I’m also an exams invigilator at a secondary school, so it’s safe to say I spend my life working with children from 2 all the way up to 18 years old! As a lifelong avid reader, I am passionate about promoting a love of reading and writing for pleasure. I try my hardest to create books and events that show children how fun books and storytelling can be. My picture books range from two superhero books (illustrated by @clare_elsom ), to the lyrical letter of hope and love in All I Hope For You (illustrated by @kittyharrisillustration ), to the silly snowy Yetis Don’t Exist (illustrated by @lorettaschauer ) and most recently, the heartfelt sparkling celebration of kindness and community that is Christmas Lights on Mistletoe Street (illustrated by @natelledrawsstuff ). I’m also thrilled to have recently published the first in a series of books for readers aged 7 and over - Werelock and Scratch Mystery Most Puzzling, illustrated by @binnyillustration . With this interactive puzzle-filled mystery series I have tried to create the ultimate read for pleasure, to really show newly independent readers that books can be fun and engaging. If you ever see me at an event I’m running, I will probably be dressed in a silly outfit and pulling all sorts of ridiculous faces, but please don’t let that put you off from saying hello! I love to meet bookish people! So that’s me in a nutshell (although that is one outfit I don’t have yet!) - it’s nice to meet you! It was such a joy to finally visit the lovely @papercatbooks this morning after having long admired them via social media and worked with them for a few school events.
