I’ve opened a limited number of private studio sessions.
Over the past several months, I’ve had more people ask about working with me one-on-one—inside the studio, inside the process.
These sessions are quiet, focused, and tailored to you.
Sometimes we’re painting. Sometimes we’re stepping back and looking closely at what your work is doing—and what it’s asking for next.
It’s not a class or a step-by-step approach.
It’s a working session. Part critique, part conversation, part making.
If you’re feeling stuck, developing a body of work, or wanting more direct, thoughtful feedback—this space is for that.
Sessions are 2 hours and availability is limited.
You can read more or reach out at the link in bio. Or DM me.
I don’t share as much on social media anymore.
I write a monthly studio letter instead—Studio Notes—where I talk through process, show work in progress, and share what I’m thinking about before it’s resolved.
If that kind of slower, quieter connection resonates, you’re welcome to join. Link in bio.
I’m thrilled to share that my painting “The Breath Between Realms” won Honorable Mention for the 2026 Abstract competition by Art & Color 365 magazine! This is a rare painting for me in that I don’t do animals often. But the raven appeared and it felt like a message. You can see and purchase this painting through Juxtahub as it is part of their 2026 Soirée Art Collection. @juxtahub@artandcolor365
Busy day! Dropped off two paintings for A Clear View show at the Luckenbach Mill opening May 22. Dropped off this painting in the pic, “The tenderness of Holding,” at Connexions Gallery for Flowers For Alice plus several more for their summer show. Got a pedicure, picked up groceries, and now sitting down to a dinner coconut shrimp and sweet potatoes with sticky rice. How was your day?
A few years ago, I created this painting for a client inspired by their time spent in the Catskills.
It wasn’t painted from one exact photograph, but from multiple references, memories, atmosphere, and the feeling of being there. The cold air, the quiet, the color of the sky at dusk, the way certain places seem to stay inside your body long after you leave them.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how certain places stay with us. Not just visually, but emotionally.
Because of that, I’m opening a very limited number of commissions for abstract landscapes rooted in the emotion and memory of place.
These are not exact reproductions. They’re intuitive, atmospheric interpretations created through my own visual language.
If there’s a landscape, location, or memory that matters deeply to you, send me a message and we can talk. ✨
These two paintings are part of my Grit & Beauty series. You can see (and buy!) them in the next Resident Artists Show at Juxtahub starting tomorrow!
My Grit & Beauty series explores the space where strength and softness coexist. Through layered abstraction and raw mark-making, the series holds tension, tenderness, imperfection, and resilience all at once—finding beauty not despite the fractures, but within them.
Stop by my studio to see all of the paintings in this series. I’d love to show them to you.

I only have two spots left! Abstract Landscapes: Memory Over Place
An intimate 3-hour studio workshop about painting atmosphere, memory, mood, and feeling rather than realism or reference photos. Link in bio to register and learn more.
I was conducting a completely professional hallway patrol when I noticed @katcollinsstudio ’ studio door slightly open… 👀
Inside: this absolute explosion of color heading to @connexions_gallery for the Flowers for Alice show.
I stood there quietly for a while pretending I understood brushwork techniques when really I was just emotionally affected by the flowers. 🌸🐸✨
Honestly? Worth getting distracted for.

I’ve decided to begin offering small, intimate studio workshops directly from my studio instead of larger classroom-style classes.
The first one is:
Abstract Landscapes: Memory Over Place on May 17, 1-4pm.
A 3-hour workshop focused on painting landscape through atmosphere, memory, mood, and intuition rather than realism or reference photos.
This is not a step-by-step “paint this exact thing” kind of class.
We’ll explore layering, mark-making, color, texture, and learning how to respond to the painting as it unfolds. Think: horizon lines, weather, light, movement, memory, the feeling of a place more than the literal place itself.
The workshop is intentionally small — only 4 participants — so there’s space for conversation, individualized guidance, experimentation, and a slower, more supportive experience.
No painting experience is necessary. Truly.
Just curiosity and a willingness to let go a little.
• 3-hour studio workshop
• All materials included
• Maximum 4 participants
• $125/person
If this sounds like something you’d love to experience, you can find more information through the link in my bio or send me a message.
Honestly, this format feels much more aligned with the way I actually want to teach — quieter, deeper, more connected — and I’m really excited about it.
It’s a bit surreal but so cool! I’m totally honored that @perianthinteriordesign chose some of my paintings to complete her design for this year’s Society of The Arts Show House featuring the John B. Shimer House in Emmaus, PA. It all looks stunning! The paintings are available for purchase. You can tour the house and grounds to see all the amazing work that multiple designers, artists, and landscapers created. I highly recommend it! Proceeds benefit programs at the Allentown Art Museum. @society_of_the_artslv

I’ve opened a limited number of private studio sessions inside my working studio.
These aren’t traditional lessons. They’re one-on-one, focused sessions for artists who want to go deeper into their work.
We can look at:
– developing a cohesive body of work
– strengthening your visual language
– moving through stuck or unresolved paintings
– or refining direction and intent
This is about rigor, clarity, and learning how to trust your own decisions in the studio.
It’s not about painting like me.
It’s about becoming more fully yourself in your work.
Limited availability. Link in bio.
