It’s already been a tremendous joy — due in no small part to the writer’s room that has proven to be as supportive as it is talented.
Our cast is beyond awesome and I can’t wait to get on set with them. It’s been a long drought and I do not take this opportunity lightly.

Back in the 90s when I was a soap opera writer in New York, I met the married couple of writer Anna Cascio and her husband actor Doc Dougherty.
They became two people who mean more to me than I can express. Colorful doesn’t begin to capture them. Neither does outrageous. Or supremely talented.
Then in 2009, Doc was accused of an insane crime — one that he was not only innocent of, but could not have committed. But that didn’t stop the cops. They spent the next two years trying to frame him.
Doc and Anna have teamed up to write and produce a play inspired by this insanity. They’re in the final week of rehearsals before it opens at EAG Hall on May 20th. If you’re in the New York area, I urge you to see the show.
Doc is as dynamic and powerful an actor as I have ever seen (or worked with). And Anna is one of the most beautiful and emotionally evocative writers I have ever read (or worked with).

Here’s my brother. Today is his birthday. He’s an amazing teacher who works very hard to provide care to students with severe learning disabilities every day. He’s underfunded, overworked, and villainized by the alt-right (for doing his job and caring for those who need it).
Despite that, his work ethic and commitment to his students (and their parents) is as inspiring as it is unflappable.
Teachers are not the enemy. They are truly heroes. Please vote for people who will help teachers like my brother do their job.
And while you’re at it, wish my brother a happy birthday. He deserves it. Happy birthday, buddy

He is just crushing it. This is why the NYT and Schumer and all the mainstream reactionary centralists are wrong. We do NOT need to move to the middle. We need to move to the LEFT.
We need Progressives who understand that the gridlock is caused by career politicians who want to line their pockets and maintain the status quo, not FIX THINGS.

During the pandemic I got into birding. I’m not a lister (or even good at it). But I really enjoy the early mornings and observing them.
I’ve recently added photos to my weekend excursions. I am very wobbly and still figuring out the camera. But it’s been fun to muddle my way through. (And frustrating, too - but that’s the learning process).
If you’re looking for a cheap thing to do that restores the soul and connects you to Nature, i highly recommend trying out birding. You can even do it in the city. It’s amazing how many interesting birds live in urban areas, too.
