Kom kunst kijken, voetballen en ‘derde helften’ tijdens de opening op vrijdag 24 april, of daarna t/m 6 juni. Thuiswedstrijd is een happening met spelers, maar zonder bal of doel. Via een koptelefoon zijn er twee geluidskanalen te horen: Kanaal 1 wild en speels. Kanaal 2 wijs en diep. Kijkers worden uitgenodigd om mee te bewegen, maar gewoon kijken kan ook. Homegame is a happening with players, but without a ball or goal. Two audio channels are played through headphones: Channel 1: wild and playful. Channel 2: wise and deep. Viewers are invited to join in the movement, but just watching is also possible. De tekeningen zijn geïnspireerd door de fresco’s van Francesco del Cossa (ca. 1430–1477) uit Palazzo Schifanoia. Francesco wordt in het boek ‘How to be both’ door Ali Smith omschreven als een vrouw die zich als man verkleedde, om zo toch haar werk te kunnen doen. The drawings are inspired by the frescoes of Francesco del Cossa (approx 1430–1477) from Palazzo Schifanoia. In Ali Smith’s book “How to Be Both,” Francesco is described as a woman who disguised herself as a man so she could do her work. 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝟮 • 𝗯𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 | 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗰, 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘅, 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 - 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝟬𝟵𝗘𝟬𝟭: 𝗛.𝗦.𝗕. 𝗵𝗼𝘁, 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘯𝘭 – De kantine van V.V.K. hangt vol foto’s, bekers en sjaals: een opeenstapeling van herinneringen en prestaties. In een hoek staat een altaarachtige opstelling met daarboven: V.V.K. DAMES. Deze geïsoleerde presentatie trok direct de aandacht van Karina Beumer - zichtbaar, maar ook afgezonderd. In haar werk draait Beumer het perspectief om. Waar je eerst naar spelers kijkt, word je nu zelf bekeken. Langs de randen van de ruimte richten figuren hun blik op de bezoeker. Een spel van posities ontstaat: wie kijkt, en wie wordt bekeken? En wat betekent het om in een hokje geplaatst te worden? Geïnspireerd door haar ervaringen van het meetrainen bij V.V.K. Dames 2 onderzoekt Beumer wat het betekent om onderdeel te zijn van een club, hoe identiteit zich vormt in relatie tot een rol, een plek of een tenue en wat gebeurt er wanneer je tegelijk binnen én buiten een gemeenschap staat? 𝘦𝘯𝘨 – The V.V.K. canteen is filled with photos, trophies and scarves: a layering of memories and achievements. In one corner stands an altar-like display with the words “V.V.K. DAMES” above it. This isolated presentation immediately caught Karina Beumer’s attention - visible, yet set apart. In her work, Beumer reverses this perspective. Where you would normally look at the players, you now become the one being observed. Figures positioned along the edges of the space direct their gaze toward the visitor. A play of positions emerges: who is looking, and who is being looked at? And what does it mean to be placed in a category? Inspired by her experiences of training with V.V.K. Women’s Team 2, Beumer explores what it means to belong to a club, how identity is shaped through a role, a place, or a uniform and what happens when you exist both inside and outside of a community at the same time? @karinabeumer photos: Hanne van der Velde

Glazen werden gevuld met bubbels en vrijwilligers van V.V.K. zorgden voor bier en frituur. Een groot dankjewel aan iedereen die erbij was! ▸ Nieuwsgierig naar de tentoonstelling? Voor de eerste helft verzamelden bezoekers zich in de kantine van de voetbalclub. After a residency of nearly two months, Karina Beumer, Elen Braga and William Ludwig Lutgens presented their new works at the local football club V.V.K. For the first half, visitors gathered in the club’s canteen, where curator Elles Hesseling opened the exhibition. Met de opening in zicht krijgen de nieuwe werken steeds meer vorm. Metaal wordt bewerkt, hout gevormd en personages van de voetbalvereniging komen tot leven. De expositie met nieuw werk is vanaf vrijdag 24 april tot en met 6 juni te zien bij voetbalvereniging V.V.K. ▸ 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰: 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘨 – Over the past weeks, Karina Beumer, William Ludwig Lutgens and Elen Braga have been working on the exhibition at football club V.V.K. during their residency. With the opening approaching, the new works are steadily taking shape. Metal is being worked, wood is being shaped, and characters from the football club are coming to life.
