🙋🏻♀️ Anyone else enjoy sewing and have trouble finding patterns that actually fit your style or feel relevant? It seems like finding something good takes so much digging. Making this series to share any cool/ fun patterns I find on the World Wide Web. And, if you have any recs, lmk !
₮₳₮₮ØØ Ɇ₥฿ⱤØłĐɆⱤɎ 🌀 My summer ‘25 project was embroidering this chambray shirt with drawings from some of my favorite tattoo artists and illustrators. The designs were made into vector files and printed onto water soluble paper. The satin stitch was embroidered with different shades of blue, size 8 cotton perle thread.
The shirt was soaked in water after embroideries were complete. Slides 7 & 8 show an initial test to dissolve the non woven paper.
𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒖𝒔 🌬️ Over the second half of 2025, I started making my own formal designs for the first time. The layouts were inspired by events and people in my life. My goal was to create the work by thinking about a specific person or event and just start sewing without a set plan or predetermined direction- letting a certain feeling guide the way. It was also important that the idea went directly from my mind to the fabric without being drawn on paper or mapped out on a screen first.
Slide 2 was inspired by all the growth and changes I’ve experienced since my mom passed away and closing KARA.
Slide 6 is portrait of my mom 🤍
Most pieces take 70 - 100 hours to complete.
𝖋𝖑𝖆𝖘𝖍 𝖘𝖆𝖒𝖕𝖑𝖊𝖗 🪡🩸 In 2025, I started testing out my own cross stitch layouts and concepts. These 2 samplers were inspired by flash tattoo sheets. For the colour version, in particular, I was interested in seeing how patterns layered together. Funny, how an ancient craft technique can start to look like pixels on a screen.
Cross stitch patterns came from Ukrainian and Transylvanian books purchased/downloaded from Etsy.

The meditative aspect of sewing was extremely therapeutic and something I’ve really fallen in love with. Here are some pieces I made from 2021 - 2024 before I started working on my own designs.
