I am honored to have been selected to participate in the 9th edition of Art Connects Women, taking place April 8–11, 2026, in Dubai, with the support of
@uaemajra and under the patronage of
@unesco .
Art Connects Women is a socially engaged international initiative dedicated to celebrating female creativity and advancing women’s role in the arts in connection with International Women’s Day. The project brings together 120 women artists from more than 120 countries, representing the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
As the Art Ambassador for the United Kingdom, I will present my sculpture “Echoes from the Ancients” (2023), from my ongoing series The Lost Animals, as part of the exhibition curated by
@zeearts_gallery , which explores the inspiring theme “Educate to Empower.”
The work reflects on the fragile fate of the Blue Whale — one of the most magnificent yet endangered creatures in the world’s oceans. The sculpture is created from recycled fiberglass using the flocking technique, combined with sapphire-blue finishing and silver chrome electroplating. Through its form and materiality, the piece explores the contrast between the grandeur of these ocean giants and their vulnerability.
At a time when the world — and particularly the Middle East region — is experiencing uncertainty and tension, initiatives such as Art Connects Women remind us of the unifying power of art. Art can transcend borders, create space for dialogue, and inspire meaningful social change.
The theme of Art Connects Women 2026 — “Educate to Empower” highlights the vital role of art and culture in supporting education, equality, and new opportunities for future generations.
I look forward to sharing this moment with inspiring women artists from around the world in Dubai.
