Book Club with Spurge Carter
Fresh off his Asia tour, musician and creative thinker @itsaliese stopped by KAMP to share his collection of art books that are near and dear to him. Over 3 boxes of L’Industries pizza, Spurge talked us through back issues of Hii Magazine where he served as Editor In Chief, and shared his process in creating ephemera for the community space @mews.nyc , and a few additional titles he’s picked up throughout his travels.

Once upon a time…
Creator Roger Tofte had a vision for a fairytale theme park nestled into the forest in Central Oregon. Breaking ground in 1964, Tofte and his family began building the park one bag of cement at a time. Through immense hard work and craftsmanship, Enchanted Forest opened in August 1971. Since that day the Tofte Family still own and operate Enchanted Forest and continue to develop new areas and rides within the park. In February of this year, Roger Tofte passed away with his family by his side. The family continues to carry Roger’s dream with passion and care.
Kamp Gallery presents the Enchanted Forest Group Show inspired by the dedication, hand craft, and artistic vision of the Tofte Family and Roger’s lasting legacy. Featuring eleven artists from around the world, the show celebrates the endless inspiration of the Enchanted Forest.

“Catch sight of” by @tomrporter is now available to purchase in the Kamp ABC webstore. This large scale deconstructable book is laid out over three sections of black, blue, and green photographs exploring the intimate beauty of everyday objects. The images are risograph printed on a heavyweight paper and bound with metal fasteners which allows the book to be disassembled so the pages can be used as individual prints.
