HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 💐
I learned a lot about sacrificing for my kids from my mother. And learned how to care for myself so I can be the best example to them too. It’s a delicate relationship to grow humans but I’m so grateful for all the love and all the lessons 💝
Most anticipated field trip to the @capeverdeanmuseumdotorg today. I learned so much with my colleagues and @risd1877 students. I encourage everyone to visit and support. Museums really are integral to healthy communities and self-actualization of those said communities.
What to expect on Thursday:
🍋🟩 A relaxed, welcoming space just for museum workers
🍋🟩 Button-making and community collage centered on the prompt “Joy”
🍋🟩 Yummy food and beverages
🍋🟩 Community portrait session by @jpittswiley
We hope that the evening feels positive, grounding, and energizing—a reminder that we’re not
working in isolation, but as part of a connected community across the state. @ne_museums@risdmuseum

Rhode Island for Community & Justice (RICJ) is a social justice nonprofit with a mission to reduce bias, bigotry, and racism while fostering understanding and connection across communities. Through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education, we work to create a more just and inclusive society. Our initiatives include empowering youth to become tomorrow’s changemakers, diverting young people from the justice system, supporting their successful reintegration into their communities, and providing DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) training.
Attention Rhode Island-area Museum People: In partnership the RISD Museum and NEMA invites you to join us at Limelight, a special gathering just for museum workers across Rhode Island.
Join us on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 5–8 PM in the museum’s Common Room (Chace Center lobby).
Inspired by the Caribbean tradition of liming–coming together to relax, connect, and be in community.
