Not only does this meta-story shine light to a story of Colt Seavers, but The Fall Guy unveils the curtains behind the stuntmen who shape the action in every movie. Words cannot describe how monumental this movie impacted me as an industry professional and a storyteller. I wish this film inspires others just as it has for me. 🍂 Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 Grateful for the journey and the incredible people who've made it special. I finally had the chance to watch the final episode, and I wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to Jane Wu @janewushu and Sunny Sun @sunnysun_sunnysun for bringing me on Blue Eye Samurai—an endeavor close to my heart that persevered amidst the challenges of COVID. Navigating global challenges required innovative solutions. The collaboration between our animation team and the stunt team in China gave rise to a unique workflow that breaks new ground, and offers lessons to carry forward into the future. 📈 Where it all began - a line graph portraying the emotional arcs of our characters. The genesis was the pivotal Mizu vs. Taigen and Tengu Teachers fight. Within the seemingly simple crossing of three lines lies the intricate emotional drama between Mizu, Taigen, and the societal representation embodied by Elder Domo. Before choreographing the action sequences, we delved deep into the emotional landscapes of our characters. The determination of Mizu, the unwavering resolve of Taigen, and the judgment of the Tengu Teachers—all meticulously plotted on this graph, guiding us through the peaks and valleys of their unfolding tale. 🎥 This roadmap was crucial for aligning our vision before executing it with the China team across time zones. The use of live-action previz enhanced and added weight to the action and drama of Mizu and Taigen within the animated world. The results were spectacular, and we continued to utilize this workflow across the rest of the fights this season. 🔥 I hope the world is enjoying this vision of Blue Eye Samurai as much as the team enjoyed the process.
