Here comes another set of classes for those who want to deep dive into their practice over the summer. 📍 @danscentrumsyd 📅 JUNE 10 / 17 / 24 & JULY 1 / 8 / 15 I offer TWO courses lasting 6 weeks. 1️⃣ LEVELING Wednesdays 18:00-20:00 • House dance • Leviathan Flow • Concepts • Floor work This is a course that focuses on freestyle for dancers who want to dive deeper into their practice. This course is intended for dancers with prior dance experience who prioritize process, consistency, and depth over short-term results. 💰 330 SEK (single classes / drop-in) 2️⃣ FOUNDATIONS Wednesdays 20:00-21:30 • Build a solid foundation in basic steps • Find your own groove • Get comfortable with basic rhythms • Introduce freestyle This open level course is for dancers who are new to House dance or want to strengthen their basics. V.17 Daglig Träning/Daily Training STREET Måndag 9-10.30, Spinnstudion (Vidare) Onsdag-Fredag 9-10.30, Ärlegården KAIDE GONZALEZ är en chilensk–svensk dansare, koreograf och pedagog med rötter i Hip Hop och House. Hans praktik rör sig mellan battles, scenkonst och undervisning. Med en kandidatexamen i danspedagogik från Amsterdam University of the Arts kombinerar han fördjupad kulturförståelse med ett analytiskt och kroppsligt arbetssätt. Som del av den latinamerikanska diasporan i Sverige utforskar han identitet, tillhörighet och det liminala rummet mellan kulturer. Hans arbete kretsar kring freestyle, samband mellan mind, body och soul, och långsiktig utveckling av en egen konstnärlig röst. Sedan 2022 utvecklar han Leviathan Flow, en metod med fokus på helkroppsligt flöde och hållbar praktik. IN CLASS Fokuset på klasserna är introduktion till freestyle vägleds genom metoden Leviathan Flow, vilket är namnet på Kaides dansspråk samt träningsmetod som han ständigt utvecklar. Metoden är ett verktyg för att hjälpa utövaren (oavsett dansbakgrund) att bekanta sig med sin kropp genom att använda cirkulära och undulerande (vågor) rörelser. Denna metod uppmanar utövaren att vara närvarande i sin dans samt söker konstant efter ett “total body connectivity”. Klasserna fungerar även som en introduktion till House Dance. Inom klasserna kommer vi leka med: – etablering av kroppens "andning" genom rörelse som ett grundarbetet för att hitta flow inom sin dans. – mind, body & soul som utgångspunkt för utforskandet för att öppna upp dörrar till framtida möjligheter när utövaren återgår till sin fria dansrörelse. – freestyle-koncept – enkel användning av musik och rytm Måndagsmorgon på Spinnstudion ✨ Klasserna är en del av projektet Vidare som drivs av Språng och riktar sig till dig som är professionell dansare eller har stor danserfarenhet – oavsett funktionalitet. Tillsammans utforskar vi en funktionsöverskridande danspraktik och hur vi kan skapa ett hållbart dansliv genom hela livet, även när kroppen förändras. Projektet utvecklas i samarbete med Danscentrum Väst, Dansalliansen, Regionteater Väst och Danskompaniet Spinn.

Floor work is very challenging and takes time to develop. Just like any other skill. I also understand why it’s something many would like to explore but might find ”scary” or ”intimidating”. Our references for floor work are often examples that involve a lot of acrobatics, physical strength beyond what we might have today, gravity defying movements etc. Even if that’s true, I like to spend time in the space that is before all of that. A moment that’s before the floor WORK. That moment is when we ”simply” expand our understanding of our dance from standing up to a different level whether that’s mid-level (horse stance), squat, hands and feet on the ground or having the body flat on the ground. Start simple. Take an idea and change levels. It might be nodding your head to the music -> rocking your body -> stepping in space etc. Snippets from a workshop I taught at @house.dance.amsterdam @solidgroundmovement ✌🏼
