What happened in Japan felt like a spiritual reset. I saw my closest friends perform to my songs on an international stage, shook hands with the pioneers of the dance style I practice, and met my first few true fans from abroad. We discovered spaces where passion could be easily cultivated because people consistently showed up and participated.
In this global community, we have regional differences, but a shared love for the artforms we all practice. I am humbled and grateful to be apart of that experience 🙏
One of the most valuable things I learned is that the truth is rarely on the surface. Knowledge is buried deep, and digging for it can mean staying up past 2am for the right kinds of conversation or wandering a cemetery for hours to look for your hero.
