I dont post about my work nearly enough but this project really felt full circle to me. My sister and her team at Jumpman gave Recess studios the opportunity to develop something beautiful in a city that gave me so much.
From being fresh out of college getting my feet wet doing events for free - to getting to work with my mentor - 10 years into my career - bringing these events to life in Houston feels like a cheat code.
The work was a race to finish, and required so many 13 hour days, but getting to celebrate Chase's launch for his new Jordan sillouette across two events in 2 days has been worth every minute spent. This is the type of work that is so gratifying and strategized so beautifully - this is the work that my son gets to see me grind for and think his mom is cool.
Thank you @jumpman23 for trusting @recess.studios to execute this for you - and HUGE congrats @ogchaseb !
Special shouts to @haleysimone , @myeeka_f and @theericavalentina and my Houston community who helped me tap in every step of the way.💚💚
A hair appointment, 3 cities, 3 shoots and one bridal shower later - she's headed home with the same 2 bags and countless new memories. Ive never week-maxxed so hard 😂
Life can really be a blessing 📸
Piece Title: The Beatles: Eleanor Rigbey - 1:10
Artist Note:
The High-C in this song, at the time stamp mentioned, is a perfect example of the color and the feeling I portrayed in this painting. Something about that note, in any song, in this song, gives me goosebumps - it makes me see the vibrant colors on the base of this work and feel the euphoria I feel for the subject.
What a beautiful thing, to see and hear and feel something all at once - what a beautiful thing to be able to put it on a canvas.
