Honored to be included in the new issue of @wildscapelit literary journal. The theme is CALM / STORM... artists and writers were asked to pick a 'side' to express their emotion. My twisted curse mask fit nicely with STORM🌪️ Reading through the issue (linked in stories for free) it is obvious to me that the arts are a tremendous outlet for stress. I encourage everyone, regardless of skill, to find a passion where you use your hands to CREATE 👋 It is great therapy! Here is a blurb from @wildscapelit about the issue: 'As you journey through this issue, I ask that you give yourself space to feel. You might notice intense emotion with some (or many) of these works. Sit with them - both the stories and art, as well as your emotions. Allow yourself to grieve. And then when you're ready, take that grief and let it simmer. Then, do something with it. Create, fight, scream. Speak up for the oppressed and marginalized. Find a way to integrate yourself into the fight against fascism, oppression, and injustice. I want you to hold onto the way you feel as you read this issue, and I want you to never let it go. That rage, that grief, that devastation - let it ignite something in you. I beg you to never let anyone or anything snuff out that fire. We're in this together. We fight, together. We create change, together. You are never alone. You matter. Your words matter. Your art matters. I love you. Please, never stop creating.' Thank you @opheliawmonet for including me

I've been lucky to be in so many great art shows over the years! Here are a few photos over the last 8 years. Shows all over the U.S. and a couple overseas. I was able to attend most of the shows. If anyone knows of opportunities coming up...please let me know. I'm always looking for more shows 👀 🤝 The full list my shows... California (Mad Kat Gallery curated by @kimatolmanart , Dorado 806 Projects @dorado.806 and the Wildling Museum of Art and Nature), Georgia (Fincher Visual Arts Center, Falany Performing Arts Center, Swan Coach House Gallery @swancoachhousegallery , Day and Night Projects @daynightprojects , and The High Rise Show), Tennessee (Nashville State Art Gallery curated by @wellspaintings ), Carson-Newman University @carsonnewman_art , and Turnip Green Creative Reuse @turnipgreencreativereuse ). I’ve also exhibited in Wyoming (Arts Center Gallery at Central Wyoming College and Sage Arts Center), England (Bat Cave Gallery and Weven Shop @weven_shop ), Germany (Feinkunst Krüger Gallery @feinkunstkrueger ), and a biennial in Slovenia (Škofja Loka). Other locations include New Mexico (New Mexico Art League), South Dakota (No. 7 Center Gallery), North Carolina (Goodyear Arts @goodyeararts ), Nevada (UNLV Barrick Museum @unlvmuseum ), Pennsylvania (Hemlock Gallery), a @wynwoodwallsofficial adjacent pop-up show, and New York (Treat Gallery @treatgallery ).

Craters of the Moon National Monument is filled with BATS 🦇 and lava tube caves. Who would have thought Idaho would have volcanic black rocks for miles? I discovered that when I did an Artist-In-Residency in the park. The landscape is so otherworldly that four NASA astronauts trained at the Craters of the Moon in 1969 to prepare for Apollo Moon missions. About those bats.... I had to borrow park ranger boots because you can't wear shoes from out of state into the caves (the bats are susceptible to desdly white-nose syndrome). I loved the park and would love to go back there.  Polaroid I-Type film image with model Michelle Dunne 2017. @nationalparkservice @cratersofthemoon_nps @visitidaho @sunvalleymuseum @sunvalley @polaroid @kaitlynaurelia

Moth in the Swamp 🐊 Adventures during my Artist-In-Residency at Big Cypress National Preserve and Florida Everglades residency. What a beautiful place. 🌅 Did you know that the Everglades is the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist in the wild? @bigcypressnps @polaroid @lensbabyusa @evergladesnps @visitflorida #bigcypress #wildflorida #nationalparkartistinresidency #artistinresidence #theeverglades

I created this bat piece at Petrified Forest National Park during a 2016 Artist-In-Residency. I got to spend a month in the park and live in a sweet little adobe style house (slide 5) which overlooked the painted desert rolling hills and 200 million year old logs. I modeled this look in the park and gave mask-making demonstrations at the historic La Posada in Winslow. I based the mask on the little badass Townsend Big-Eared Bat (Corynorhinus townsendii) in the park 🦇The mask now lives in Nashville. It was sold in my first @turnipgreencreativereuse art show. Fun facts: This bat is renowned for its extremely long ears (about 1.5 inches) and unique behaviors like sleeping with ears curled like ram horns. They are remarkably agile "whisper" hunters that specialize in catching moths, often relying on stealth to avoid detection, and are notably long-lived, with some individuals reaching up to 21 year. Most artists don't know that there are dozens of @nationalparkservice art residencies from Florida to Alaska. I've done 5 of them. Unfortunately, the park service and forest service are under extreme threat right now from greed heads. I urge you to support the resistance and fight to protect public land - it is patriotic! 🇺🇸 🎶 You know.... 'This land is your land, this land is my land' as Woody Gutherie sang 🎶 @s.ma.l.s @alisonjeancole @petrifiedforestnps @arizona @visit_arizona
