i created something at the top of a castle, in cairo.
The Cairo Residency dinner for @kotn and @byseanbrown , where we explored the heart of Egypt through food and friends. An evening to celebrate the intersection of two worlds. An Ottoman Islamic castle, adorned with a curved table inspired by the Nile river (& curves by Sean Brown), sprinkled with clay pottery (my absolute favourite) and native florals. Can you believe I visited this castle 7 years ago; and just got to use it as a canvas?

as you all know this collection meant the world to me. it was my debut fashion collection, adorned with grunge aesthetics, skulls and a little hint of personal identity. each piece used personal artwork dating back to 2016 which explored my culture, identity and fate. creating these pieces allowed me to join you all in a greater narrative, creating meaningful pieces to be worn by community - making this collection my most important project to date.
AND TO HAVE IT FEATURED IN VOGUE? An absolute honour and dream come true to be highlighted in a fashion trend forecast on the same spread as Prada and Maison Margiela.
“…designers are showing clothing that is deliberately “undone” - both in the sense of “not finished” and “disintegrating” - echoing the realities of the 2020s so far…During these epochs of change, and the one we are witnessing now, people sometimes choose to show their disillusionment through their style. The world is far from perfect – and clothing can either give an escape from reality, or reflect it…. Love Closely has played with zipped slashes and washed-out looking fabrics.”
