When I told my father that we’d named her “Winter Ann”, he told his entire family that her name was “Winter Joy”. He’s been calling her Winter Joy ever since, I understand why. 🤍

I’ve been haunted by this painting for the longest time. I remember asking Kaláya to paint her years ago. Though I loved the idea, I was really intimidated. But to see it now.. Wow.. I’ve never been happier with a painting before. Never been happier.
I’ve never depicted my papa before. He’s a man of very few words. I’ve been getting to know him little by little my entire life, feels like there’s still so much about him for me to uncover.
