In a little over two weeks, @kimlatwood from @elephantroomgallery will be taking over Blackbird’s walls starting with the @ravenswood_artwalk , up to the beginning of November.
“~ ZODIAC ~ Archetypes of the Psyche” is a group exhibition featuring local artists and curated by Kimberly Leja Atwood of Elephant Room Gallery. The exhibition will be on view at Blackbird Gallery and Framing, located at 4428 N Ravenswood Ave. from September 13th through November 2nd. The programming is included in the Ravenswood Art Walk, happening on Sept. 13th and 14th from 11am to 6pm. An opening reception with the artists will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13th from 5 to 8pm and is free and open to the public.
“~ ZODIAC ~ Archetypes of the Psyche” invites twelve artists to interpret the zodiac signs through the lens of psychological archetypes rooted in the collective unconscious. Each artist contributes a work that is inspired by one of the twelve signs, offering a personal yet universally resonant exploration of identity and symbolism. The exhibition seeks to remove the layers of perception we hold of ourselves and others and reveal what connects us. Through a wide range of visual styles, these artists illuminate how introspection can become a path to empathy, connection and a richer understanding of our shared humanity.
Exhibiting artists are Cujo Dah, Delisha McKinney, Fantasía Ariel, Gabi Bozeman, Mike Monteleagre, Morgan Nicolette, Norma Ojeda, Rine Boyer, Shanna Zentner, Underseagravy, Zeye One and Zor Zor Zor.

There couldn’t be a more perfect frame to go on this print by @the_paintedladies 🤩. @bellamoulding ‘s “Bungalow” minted sage is the perfect color, and the etching is such a perfect accent to the cactus in this piece.

Just a few days away from our group show “Framed Up”! As a thank you to our generous sponsor @jeppsonsmalort , we will be raffling off two of my Malört “break in case of emergency “ frames on opening night of the show, 9/13, at Blackbird Framing.
In order for you to be a part of the raffle you will have to be in attendance at the show to grab a raffle ticket.

Our friends at Wayward will be having a show down the street from us, walking distance at 1770 W Berteau, on the same night of our show! Their opening will be from 6pm-9pm. So show them some love and consider checking out their show as well. So much art to view on 9/13! And if for some reason you can’t make either, both Blackbird Framing and Wayward will be open during the @ravenswood_artwalk weekend, 9/14-9/15 11am-6pm, for viewing of our two shows!
Friends of the gallery, Blackbird Framing, is having an art opening the same night as Cadavre Exquis! 9/13, 6-10:30pm. They’re essentially right around the corner from us at 4428 N Ravenswood Ave.
One of the disadvantages of hosting an opening show, is in missing the opening of nearby friends. Plan your night so you can send them our love in absentia.
