Words can’t describe the loss of someone who was a main pillar in your life. When I first moved up to the Hudson Valley as a young filmmaker, Laurent took me into the film community with open arms, working hard for everyone he cared for. My loyalty and friendship to him was undying, for years we would build homes, work a film festival, talk about movies we loved, talk about movies we hated, make films together, make each other laugh and share many meals (shout out to Joe Beez and Maria’s Bazaar IYKYK). Through the worst of it he still fought hard while running the film commission with a steadfast dedication to this film community we call home. This place is very different without you already, but I promise we’ll carry the light. Rest in peace L-man, your memory will forever live on.
