New Album: Low Tide, Hi Grypus is the new live iteration now performing as JC Leisure Group. It documents an encounter and a form of communication between human improvisers and Atlantic grey seals. At “Die Verabredung,” they will present this project as part of their debut tour through the UK, Cologne and Berlin. Rather than treating field recordings as static material, the extensive seal archive functions as an active collaborator—shaping form, pacing, and interaction in real time. Now that’s marine biology meets human communication ?????
JC Leisure has previously released work on Sun Ark, Warm Winters Ltd, Not Not Fun.

Im Mittelpunkt der Workshops der Gesellschaft für Neue Musik Ruhr e.V. im Jahr 2026 steht dabei weniger das Erlernen konkreter Werkzeuge oder handwerklicher Techniken als vielmehr das Eintauchen in die jeweils eigene, inspirierende und bereichernde Klangwelt und Denkweise der Workshopleiter:innen. Die ganztägigen Workshops finden alle in der Neuen Musik Zentrale an drei unterschiedlichen Wochenenden statt und werden von Roberto Beseler Maxwell kuratiert und organisiert.
Freut euch auf unterschiedliche künstlerische Positionen: auf improvisierte Musik mit dem angesehenen elektroakustischen Komponisten und improvisierenden Musiker Bernhard Günter, auf die Auseinandersetzung mit Pausen und Stille in der Musik mit dem facettenreichen @junyciao sowie auf Einblicke in alternative Stimmungssysteme mit der Komponistin und Musiktheoretikerin @thatnessthereness .
