핀란드에서 오랜 시간 생활한 두 분이 모아온 기억과 물건들에서 이 집의 설계가 시작되었다. 알바 알토와 아르텍의 가구, 그리고 오랜 시간 함께해온 빈티지 오브제들이 이 공간 안에서 자연스럽게 어우러지길 바라며 재료와 디테일을 하나씩 조율해 나갔다.
문틀, 가구, 손잡이, 마루처럼 일상적으로 손에 닿는 부분에는 다양한 수종의 원목을 사용해, 핀란드에서 지냈던 집의 감각이 지금의 공간에서도 이어지기를 바랬다.
The design of this house began with the memories and objects that the two residents had gathered over many years of living in Finland. With the intention of allowing furniture by Alvar Aalto and Artek, along with long-collected vintage objects, to settle naturally into the space, materials and details were carefully adjusted and refined.
Elements that are touched in everyday life such as door frames, furniture, handles, and flooring were made using various types of wood, with the hope that the familiar sensibility of the homes they lived in Finland would continue into the present space.
