I am deeply, deeply honoured to be recognised as the awardee for the IPE 165 Under 30s by the RPS (@royalphotographicsociety ) for my work 'What a death made us do’ that I made when I was at Goldsmiths (@goldsmithsart ). This project is profoundly meaningful to me, holding a special place in my heart as the most cherished amongst all my endeavours. It authentically reflects joy and sorrow, capturing genuine emotions throughout its two-year journey. I have a deep affection for it, and express sincere gratitude to my family, friends, and everyone who supported, encouraged, and helped me bring this project to completion. Thank you to the juries for your selection and for making this dream come true. Lastly, I am sincerely grateful to my beloved grandmother, who embarked on this journey with me and who will forever be remembered. IPE 165 Exhibition will be held in February 2024 at the RPS Gallery in Bristol. More info in my bio. X 영국의 왕립사진협회에서 주최한 IPE 165 30세 미만 부문에서 제 작업 'What a death made us do’와 함께 수상하게 되어 깊은 영광을 느낍니다. #IPE165 #RoyalPhotographicSociety

Juno Seunghui Joo (@junojou ) — ‘What a Death Made Us Do’ Very pleased to introduce photographer Juno Seunghui Joo, whose work will be featured in FOUND’s upcoming publication! About the Photos: Everyone carries a house. My home is not geographical. It is where my family gathers, where my body feels at ease, where longing quietly accumulates. When I was young, my grandmother would call me. Although I stood in one physical place, my sense of home travelled through the telephone with her voice. She was the centre that brought our family together and held that space intact. ‘What a Death Made Us Do’ began after her passing in 2022. The project explores how death unsettles the emotional architecture we call home. Drawing from Korean rituals surrounding death, I use photographic tableau to subtly re-stage moments that blur the boundary between life and afterlife. Rather than depicting grief directly, the work reflects on how the living reorganise themselves after loss, and how home must be rebuilt when its centre disappears. - #FOUND #publication #photobook #uk #japan
