Beyond thrilled to announce that I’ve been awarded the @lumix@slamdancegroup Short Film Grant for my upcoming short “Once More With Feeling.” This film is a radically personal story I’ve been hoping to make for a long time and with this grant we’ll be able to go into production this summer! Here’s a test still I shot in my backyard as a little preview- more coming soon!

Lauded for its evocative cinematography, youthful spirit, and nostalgic, tender themes, An Nguyen’s We Used To Take The Long Way Home had a magical Los Angeles premiere — and there was no better place for it than @prooffilmfestival .
This film was made as a proof of concept from the beginning. We made it with love every step of the way, forging our own path when traditional support seemed impossible to find. Thanks to the incredible community at PROOF, we can see there is a place in this world for a feature version of this passion project.
Thank you to all the filmmakers and industry professionals who said hi, expressed interest in helping us bring this film to life, and offered generous words of encouragement. In 2026, we’re going to make it happen!!!
