I really believe our personality comes through in what we wear. Clothing is often the strongest way we extend our sense of self to the world. This is exactly how I remember these two from our sessions. They were always ever so full of energy, joy, and laughter. They are every bit as bright and authentic as the clothes they’re wearing. There is a common narrative that every man needs to own a standard navy two-piece suit. It is great sales talk. But, honestly, I’ve never found that to be true (apart during my first two years wandering obsessively in the world of tailored menswear like a fanatic bordering on cosplay)(don’t laugh, you probably did it too)(#growth). It is much more important to own pieces that actually resonate with who you are and the life you are living. If the traditional uniform doesn’t belong in your wardrobe, drop it. And I love Jonathan’s choice for this. It is very him, capturing both the ease and the quirkiness of it all. It is fun! (I’ll admit, Julia’s outfit wins the day here but that’s a given because it’s @subrosa_studio ). We cut a boxy leisure coat from a wool-mohair blend (@standeven1885 ), which is not common for this style here at In Personam. We usually save this silhouette for softer cloths like linen, but the colour and texture of this fabric were too difficult to resist. Mohair has such a distinct, natural lustre. In this shade of dark raspberry, the jacket has a real sense of vitality without feeling flighty. Jonathan wears it here with a crisp white mandarin collar shirt and a pair of dark navy pleated wool trousers. As for Julia’s attire, well, that’s a whole other exciting story over at Sub Rosa. #InPersonam #bespoke#tailoring

CONFETTI LIGHTS — For @julley , who radiates joy, light and colour. A rainbow array of the tiniest crystal beads, sewn individually on a bodice fully covered in clear sequins, paired with a slim column skirt and sheer crepe scarf. There’s so much I have to share about how this look came to be. When we first met, we knew right away that this look needed to serve elegance, while also showcasing her love for texture, fun and the unconventional. — The sequinned fabric for the bodice was our starting point. It is rare and unique because the sequins are laid out in a regular pattern, in a single layer of clear sequins. This creates the effect of a mesmerising high-gloss shine, catching the light so evenly and beautifully, as opposed to a flashier sparkle that sequins typically create. We wanted to go further, and decided to work with the inherent pattern of the sequins to cover it with another grid of coloured beads. Our initial idea was to do this in a metallic duo of silver and gold beads. But Julia ran with my suggestion of going with a brighter palette, through faithfully repeating rows of alternating colours, from citrine, to mint green, emerald, sunset pink and ocean blue. No shortcuts. Hours of counting sequins, mapping out the colours, sewing the beads in pairs and covering the entire bodice with them. — A thousand little decisions go into making any garment. But I believe that is in these tiny forks in the road that soul, personality and life are imbued into a physical object. Scroll to the end for a final surprise that only came to me in the last few days of working on this piece. A hidden initial, rendered in dots and dashes, for the first names of both the bride and groom ♥️

Had so much fun running around with these two in their new neighbourhood! Exploring new sites, bringing them to try yummy @hey_binge , taking a quick stop for coffee and taking some shots in their new still empty home. A day of flow and countless lol moments for both of us to remember 🌸 • • • • • • #oddlyfamiliarco #singaporeweddingphotographer #antibride #lookslikefilm #lookslikefilmwedding

Jon & Julia —— Everything about last Saturday I loveeeee! I see the detail and the heart they’ve put into the day and that’s like fuel to a photographer 💓 1000000% wished we had more time to capture even more of every moment (also didn’t want the day to end cause I was having so much fun! 🕺🏻🪩) I’ve cried at many speeches, but not at a song performance ever :’) looked around and i saw jaws dropped and cheers for their friends (who can sing so well it felt like a front row concert hall situation), but when Jon went up… goosebumps and the standing ovation given was so well deserved! How can a wedding have this many highlights to the day :’) it’s the ones where you know they’ve spent day & night planning with a vision, put their hearts into personalised notes, want their guests to enjoy every bit of it & it really paid off arghhh the best kind of weddings indeed! 🤍 Photog: @thecurious.kind Videog: @slothcreatives Florist: @meteorflowers_ Hair & Makeup: @mua.aunn Rings: @treenbee Cheongsam: @studio.hhfz Gown: @subrosa_studio Tailored Set: @inpersonam.cc Cake: @petalandpound Coordinator: @kone.weddings

Just 4 weeks to go till our big day! Between wedding prep, work, and moving house, this has probably been the craziest year yet, but I couldn’t have asked for a better partner-in-crime ❤️‍🔥 Thank you for helping me bring my gazillion moodboards to life and embracing the quirkiest ideas — including wearing this funky shirt for our shoot (which you pull off so well hehe). We had a blast frolicking around the neighbourhood with Sam @oddlyfamiliar.co , who introduced us to some mouthwatering grub and turned alleys, sidewalks, parking lots, and even a quiet community centre into spaces overflowing with fun, love, and laughter 🤭We’re holding tight to these precious moments we’ve been able to share with our loved ones and the incredible people we’ve had the privilege of meeting along the way ✨ Also, a huge shoutout to my MUA @mua.aunn , who made my hair and makeup look good even after hours under the morning sun and heat ☀️

This is dedicated to my girls who came dressed in black but add so much colour to my life 🌈💕They made my bachelorette’s so incredibly special, and trust them to come up with a plan so meticulous they even prepped a whole logs list! From facilitating our own workshop painting wine glasses (no paid activity could’ve compared) to the curated playlist, beautiful decor and celebration over bubbly and cake that tastes as delicious as it looks, it was so endearing to see shades of each person in different elements of the party. And let’s not forget how this all took place in one room, complete with a bed for us to chill and watch videos on for a good hour. But truly, what I loved the most was just seeing loved ones from different chapters of my life coming together, getting to know each other and having a blast. The funny, heartwarming, at times savage and surprisingly introspective conversations we shared over dinner are some of the moments I will remember most. Thank you for making me feel seen, heard and loved in your own little ways. I am a lucky girl indeed. #wifeoftheparty
