Introducing the finalists of the 2026 House & Garden Craft Prize – @houseandgardenuk Selected from over 500 submissions, these sixteen UK-based makers represent a compelling breadth of material-led practice - from clay and textile to wood, metal and salvaged glass. Each brings a distinct perspective, reimagining inherited techniques through experimentation, research and a deeply personal approach to making. Together, their work expands what contemporary craft can be: objects that hold meaning, invite dialogue and speak to both tradition and innovation in equal measure. At it’s heart, the House & Garden Craft Prize honours the power of the hand: its capacity to give meaning to material, to create beauty and to connect us all. And this year’s finalists offer a snapshot of the diversity and richness of the UK’s creative landscape, and the talent that will secure its future. The finalists’ exhibition will be on view for public display at Sotheby’s Mayfair from 11–17 May during @londoncraftweek . The 2026 House & Garden Craft Prize is supported by @mulberryengland , with strategic partners @sothebys and @craftscouncil Your finalists: Andrea Spencer, @aspencerglass Ane Christensen, @ane.c Barnaby Ash & Dru Plumb, @ashandplumb Beverley Duckworth, @bev.duckworth Gabriele Risso, @gabriele.risso Hannah Lim, @__hannahlim__ Hitomi Hosono, @hitomihosono Jingyi Li, @1999jingyili Juli Bolaños-Durman, @julibd___com Kamilah Ahmed, @kamilahahmed.studio Masao Rong, @masao_rong Max Bainbridge, @_maxbainbridge_ Oliver Spendley, @oliver.spendley Robert Radcliffe, @robert_radcliffe_ Robyn Neild, @robynneild Tessa Silva, @tessasilva – ‘Wee Birds – Pajaritos’ Series 2026 – Photography credits: @murrayorr

I am delighted to share that my series, "Wee Birds – Pajaritos" (2026) has been shortlisted for the 2026 House & Garden Craft Prize @houseandgardenuk This collection of 11 tropical birds with a ‘Scottish accent’ serves as a self-portrait, exploring cross-cultural pollination and the nuances of being lost in translation. My methodology focuses on reimagining waste materials into mythical creatures of beauty using heritage hand-cutting techniques. Through my work, I aim to challenge our perception of the discarded and encourage ourselves to appreciate these materials through a lens of compassion and creative-problem solving. The finalists’ exhibition will be on view for public display at Sotheby’s Mayfair from 11–17 May during @londoncraftweek . The 2026 House & Garden Craft Prize is supported by @mulberryengland , with strategic partners @sothebys and @craftscouncil – ‘Wee Birds – Pajaritos’ Series 2026 – Beautifully photographed By @murrayorr , at my @custom_lane studio. Special thanks to all the organisers, supporters and @pratyushsarup for celebrating Craft and what it mean to be a maker in the UK
