Oh little person, thank you for making me a mama. I didn't know how much this experience would expand my heart in all directions. Being your mama has been the single biggest privilege of my life and has made me love and appreciate my own mother and all mamas out there doing their best. 🙏
Women truly are astounding creatures. We should listen to them (us) a little more... the softness, the nurturing, the love... the care. It feels like the world really needs it. Mother's Day isn't actually just about celebrating moms, it's about celebrating the whole feminine and her calling us all home to her warmth.
If I reflect... This past year has been a big journey for me as I have felt called to reconnect more to the mother and feminine within me... to expand, let go, allow, agree. It's been big (often hard) work yet I have been supported by many other strong women and men on their own journeys. It took becoming a mother to realise that I have to do this work... so I am immensely grateful for this blessing that has (in every way) opened my heart and expanded my awareness.

PS: I also want to thank my own magical mama (Gaga) and mama Ivy who have supported me and loved little Skylar as if she were their own when I can't be there for her (she has 3 mums). I can openly say that I'm not sure motherhood would have been a possibility for me without the both of you... I am deeply grateful 🙏
I had thought about this day so many times and wondered what it would feel like when she finally experienced this world with us. Not just the stories about “Mama and Dada going to sing for our supper” but the real energy, the music, the people.
And then it happened. Completely unplanned of course!! I spotted her little face backstage looking very ready to investigate the whole situation and in true us fashion, there was no big plan. I just picked her up and brought her on stage. Suddenly everything felt softer. Bigger. A little more emotional than we expected…and probably a lot cuter too!
Standing there with her and looking out at all of you is something we will never forget. A full circle moment that caught us off guard in the best way. One of those memories we’ll be talking about for years 🤍🥹

This was an incredibly emotional moment for me... for the last year we've been telling her "Mama and Dada are going to go and sing for our supper baby girl" then we have to leave her in the wonderful care of her Gaga & Big. But it's never easy for us and I've always felt she doesn't really understand what we do, where we go or what we mean.
But last night, in Knysna she finally got to see. 🤍

Tomorrow is the first time she's actually gonna see Mama and Dada live... I think it's so beautiful that it's in the town where Ben and I both grew up coming on holiday when we were little kids, and the place that has been so warm and welcoming to us over the years at the concert series we started.
Plett, tomorrow is going to be very special for us! Hope you will be there to celebrate this pretty crazy milestone in our lives with us. 🌊🤍🐣
