😍Thanks to everyone who came out to our spur of the moment but very fun 🐗 Cinghiale 🐗 Gala last week. This event officially marked the beginning of getting the ball rolling on my next feature film! 🎬 I am so grateful to be working with so many incredible artists on this one but especially @devongulati and @dare2destroy the producing team of my dreams and @becomingkonishi who brought the house down! It was so incredible to see so many familiar faces 😍 even my old friend from FHS @sure_burt was there! 😝 So glad to have made new friends, and to have celebrated a year of art making and memories 🎉 Now, as we look towards the future I’m going to take some time to relax and recuperate 🛌 but we will be back with exciting surprises after the new year. In the meantime, enjoy some time with family and keep on smiling. 😊

Been pretty quiet the past few days. Have needed space to process everything that happened over the last six weeks both in my life and in the world. I’m so so tired and all the stress and all the pressure is catching up to me like a runaway eighteen wheeler but one thing I can say without a doubt is that I am the happiest I’ve ever been in my whole life. Making this movie has been so difficult but so rewarding and to put it all together and see something I wrote come to life has been really one of a kind. This movie is so expansive and we have traveled all over the city to make it. Every day of the shoot was filled with nostalgia because all of the places we went had a special importance to me that I don’t think even the folks there with me understood. I am physically drained, emotionally exhausted, and sunburned as hell but I can say I really think I did my best.

I couldn’t have done it without every single person who supported the project, understood it’s importance, and threw themselves into it, going above and beyond every single day. And just like that we’re halfway there. Weekend 3 is done and 7/12 days are shot for BAM! I cannot believe we are this far along already. It seemed like forever ago that I first wrote this script and the idea of making a feature seemed terrifying. Turns out it is terrifying but in all the best ways. This has been without a doubt the greatest experience of my artistic career and it truly fills me with joy to watch playback and come to set every day. This has been one of the greatest ensembles I have ever had the pleasure of working with, it reminds me so much of the experience of The Sightless all those summers ago. Everything would be naught though without @matthew.freer - the director of photography. Everyone who comes to set knows that he is not only a one of a kind talent but also an incredible artist and fascinating person in his own right. His commitment and support for the project has been truly uplifting and I have learned so so much working with him.

This movie is so much more than just a movie for me. It is a diary entry that spans the four years I lived in Chicago. It is filled with people, places, and things that I love, and I hope when it comes out, everyone who watches it will find a way to love them too. The beautiful, hurting, loving, crying, trying people of the world of BAM are ready for you. Are you ready for them?
