What a weekend! My first time submitting a film to @digi.60 and I couldn’t be more grateful to have won the spirit of the festival award! It means the world to me that my lil experimental short about the trans experience was so well received by our film community. It just goes to show that our community understands that trans rights are human rights and there’s still plenty of us with love in our hearts for our trans siblings (whether related by blood or not).
Thank you to everyone who helped make this film possible it wasn’t easy but our long chaotic shoot was worth it! I also wanna say thank you to everyone who shared kind words with me after the screening, this film was my soul put on screen, and it means everything to me knowing that it touched so many of you.
Thank you again @digi.60 for an incredible festival and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
A Rose by Any Other Names is a love letter to the dolls, the queens and anyone who falls outside of the made up rules society created around gender. To everyone who’s trans, non-binary, two spirits and/or inter-sex; to the non-conforming, the moustache aunties, the manly ladies and the girly men; and to everyone past present and future struggling with their gender; this film was made to remind you that you are worthy of joy, of love, of life.
I’m incredibly proud to show A Rose by Any Other Name December 6th at 6pm as part of @digi.60 60 day challenge.
Dear tiny JS,
You’re already playing a character, I see. Don’t stop, it’ll pay off later! But take pauses, live life and through your eyes you’ll see beauty in heartbreak instead of shackles in freedom. You’re more than a jester jestering your pain. You’re a tiny human who likes to hear people laugh because you care about their joy. So when you pause, listen to your own laugh, maybe then you’ll realize that your joy is just as important.
Happy birthday lil tiny JS, enjoy the ride! I love you ❤️

The only thing he has is a body and his only escape, his dreams. So what happens when he loses the ability to escape and is forced to watch the world slowly suffocate him?
La seule chose qu’il a, est un corps et son seul échappatoire, ses rêves. So qu’est-ce qui arrive quand il perd l’habileté de s’échapper et est forcé de regarder le monde en train de le suffoquer lentement?

I’m thrilled to announce that my latest film, Super Normal Anonymous, will be shown at @ottawa_comiccon Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. Please show up en mass too support local filmmakers and the wonderful people who worked their asses off to help me make this film in such a short time.
For those who saw the video I shared yesterday, enjoy this different take on the same scene. This version is extra special to me since I performed it with the Wonderful and talented @murphhickey . It’s always incredibly fun to work with her so I just had to share it on its own and fangirl a little. Anyways, here’s our version of the scene which we performed for Just Scenes Pro Series: The Pro Actor with Peter Dillon. Btw this was our first take together with no rehearsal so if that doesn't show you how well we work together I don’t know what else will.
