What a way to spend International Women’s Day.
Many thanks to the facilitators who brought their expertise to the inaugural Creator Lab and shared their knowledge so generously. Their commitment to helping other Women+ elevate their creative skill sets is deeply appreciated.
Thanks as well to the Digi60 board members and volunteers who came out to support the event and ensure everything ran smoothly.
Finally, a huge thank you to the phenomenal group of participants. The Creator Lab brought participants together for a full day exploring different aspects of the filmmaking process. The group shared openly and asked thoughtful questions - creating the kind of warm, safe environment that makes meaningful learning possible.
The team looks forward to offering more hands-on learning opportunities for the Digi60 community in the future.

Facilitator: Geghani Panosian
Geghani is a self-taught photographer and cinematographer with over 17 years of experience in analogue & digital photography and 4 years of experience in cinematography. Her work spans narrative shorts, music videos, and some documentary. She has also spent over 4 years working at a camera rental house, informing her understanding of equipment, technical information, and production environments.

Pixie Cram is a filmmaker based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The format of her work includes stop-motion animation, live action fiction, and small-gauge film (super-8 & 16mm). Her films have screened at festivals across Canada and internationally. She teaches a course in screenwriting at Carleton University.

This International Women’s Day, Digi60 is trying something new.
Apply for the Digi60 Creator Lab on March 8: a full day of hands-on workshops for new & emerging Women+ creatives (inclusive of trans, femme, and non-binary filmmakers).
Learn practical skills in cinematography, festival submissions, and pitch deck fundamentals. You'll have the chance to ask questions, try things out, and connect with fellow creators. Lunch is provided, and the day runs on a pay-what-you-can donation model to keep things accessible.
This is a small, curated experience (not an open drop-in), so participation is by application and spots are limited. Selected applicants will be notified on a rolling basis.

March 8th - International Women's Day is a major landmark in the Digi60 calendar, and you can expect that we will be running programming on that day. Details will be out sooner than you think!
December 18th to 20th - These are the dates for the 2026 Digi60 Filmmakers' Festival, which will feature our 60-Day Challenge screenings along with a variety of social events and professional development programming.
