Greatly honored to be back on
@sternshow this morning, celebrating 20 YEARS since my “Fake” Arnold Schwarzenegger prank on
@georgehtakei ! • The date was January 10, 2006. It was my seventh appearance as “Fake” Arnold, and Howard Stern’s second day of shows on
@siriusxm . All I knew was that the legendary George Takei was sitting in as announcer, and the producers wanted me to prank him as then-governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was about 4:30 AM California time when I got the call that Howard was ready for me. Back then, I was using a shitty Motorola flip phone that only got full bars if I stood on my toilet and held the phone close to the ceiling. So there I was, in my boxers, half asleep and standing on the toilet, a yellow legal pad of hastily scribbled jokes sitting atop the sink, busting George Takei’s balls as Arnold Schwarzenegger live on the Howard Stern Show. Incredibly, George truly believed he was chatting with Arnold until the very end. And despite revealing that it was all a prank, the very next day I fooled him again on the show. • One year later, I made my first appearance on “The Late Late Show with
@craigyferg ” as, you guessed it, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger—complete with padded muscle suit, latex face makeup, and an oversized cigar. Then, on October 29, 2008, George Takei and I (as Arnold) appeared in a sketch together, humorously addressing the issue of same sex marriage. Afterward, I revealed to George that I was the “Fake” Arnold from Stern Show. To which he replied, “Oh, you little rascal!” Thanks, George, for being such a good sport and a wonderful human being! Thanks to
@sternshow for giving me my first really big break in radio. And a HUGE thank you to
@conwayshow for giving me endless airtime back in the day to hone my craft, and for putting in a good word with
@robertabooey1 ! You’re a big stud, maaaaaaaan!!!
