The kitchen and dining spaces of Glint House – featured in this month’s
@homebeautiful magazine – are a quiet celebration of sustainable design done well.
This renovation kept as much of the original Edwardian home as possible, reworking the layout to improve energy efficiency and connection to the outdoors. The walls, floors and ceilings are fully insulated, with cross-ventilating double-glazed windows by
@binq_windows and north-facing glazing that welcomes in the winter sun.
Materials were chosen for durability and impact – from the recycled timber floors to the breathable wall wraps and drought-tolerant native landscaping. Even the pool footprint was reduced to make room for more garden. Local, drought-tolerant plants now fill the backyard, supporting biodiversity and softening the space.
What you see here is just a glimpse – the kitchen and dining, sitting at the heart of a home designed for both people and place.
