Thinking of shooting mostly #anamorphic in NYC throughout May… so I tested out a fun little A7r5 stills rig yesterday. The resulting frames are dreamy, massive at 14256x6336 pixels when de-stretched, and social media doesn’t do them justice.
Any guesses on the lenses used here? Does it matter?

15,000 meals a day - a full culinary operation humming before most of us hit snooze.
Our final shoot of 2025 produced a 4-minute promo for Boulder Valley School District’s Food Services program, and the production days were something special.
Utilizing the new @reddigitalcinema V-Raptor XE 8K paired with @atlaslensco Mercury Anamorphic lenses, we chased vibrant clouds in the morning light, stainless steel reflections in slow-mo, and the rhythm of the @bvsdcolorado team feeding thousands of kids across Boulder County.

On Thursday, I wrapped my final shoot of 2025 with @buckrossproductions and @bobridgehouse . We spent time with two Bridge House participants, Louis and Michele, who spoke of vulnerable moments from their time unhoused around the Denver Metro area: a cold night in a park, and years living beneath a highway overpass.
After director @buckross conducted the interviews, I captured motion portraits on the @lensbabyusa Spot 35mm in slow-mo, leaning into a dreamlike space by design. I’m struck by the warmth in these images…
These moments reminded me that while many people slip through societal cracks, each of us has the power to lift one another up in simple ways. It starts by slowing down, making eye contact, listening without judgment, and treating people with dignity and respect.
This is the work I want more of in 2026: stories rooted in empathy, honesty, and human connection.
I truly believe that these moments can have an impact. Does this resonate?

Here’s a short vignette that never made it into a recent music doc, featuring @wesleyschultz of @thelumineers .
I’ve made a career of capturing intimate, fly-on-the-wall moments using only natural light, but my approach has evolved in recent years. For this scene, I wrapped a large @aputure.lighting key light, motivated by the window on camera right, and added a small amount of warm fill from the left. The resulting footage looks stylised but natural.
After our 45-minute sit-down interview, I asked for a few additional slow-mo b-roll pickups. Since Wes is a total pro, he knew exactly what I was looking for and proceeded to perform “Don’t Wanna Go” on a nearby acoustic guitar.
