"Tacoma Park is a long-time collaboration between John Harrison and Ben Felton, both veterans of North Carolina’s arts scene. Harrison records as Jphono1 and once drummed for the Comas. Felton presides over an interdisciplinary portfolio of music, arts education, video and visual arts. Together they meld together organic finger-picking and space rock overdrive. In her review of Baltimore, Jennifer Kelly wrote, “Imagine a Kluster song with a creek running through it, birds chirping, leaves rustling, the seam between glossy synthetics and down home organic sounds so faint as to be invisible.” Here are some of their touchstones."

Two drummers who met in 1993 while living in Wilmington just finished up a small run of solo shows and no drums were involved.
My bud @kimware and I have played many shows together over the decades but it had been a while. One of the things i've always loved about traveling around and playing music is the connection it provides for me to friends old and new....which were in abundance this time out. My mind was occupied by thoughts of old friends that have known many of the different versions of me (and me of them) and how much value I place in that as I become older. It's also reaffirming to feel as if we are more similar than different from town to town as I meet new to me folks. We played my favorite hometown dive bar @thecavenc / celebrated someone's birthday at the @flatirongso with new friends / saw lots of old friends at a great new spot @avenueb_ilm that has the best outdoor stage vibes / had the honor of being invited to play two sets in someone's living room that was magical in every way.
A lot of highlights for me this time out....too many to share here but I did want to say....being able to see and hear an artist like Kim play their set every night is really special. I enjoyed a new unrecorded song that was played each night as well as the few times they played a Rodeo Boy cover "Going is Gone". Grateful Kim asked me to sit in and play guitar on a few of their songs.
