Beyond proud of my students and @missionbaymusic team. We competed last weekend at Music in the Parks and our Symphony Orchestra made MBHS history receiving their first PERFECT SCORE!! Mambo Orchestra was close behind with a 99/100. Swing choir has a solid Superior rating and won first in their division. We even won best jazz soloist (go @jordan.yaeger !!) and best accompaniment. Such a great way to end the year. Huge thanks to our music team including @morganfatormusic@iriswpercussion and @lorelei_music . It takes a village.
But wait, don’t miss out on our last concert of the year TONIGHT featuring all our classical ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra as they take on Stravinsky and Gershwin. It’s going to be amazing.
New Orleans!! One of my favorite places in the world. The music, the people and the FOOD! So lucky to be able to return for the 6th trip with the @missionbaymusic jazz band (the Preservationists). It was a real treat to see them embrace the city and play like true professionals. Big thanks to @preshallfoundation for welcoming us back and providing an incredible workshop.
